When is the best time of the week to book airline tickets via Orbitz, Travelocity, etc? I know there are times of the week when booking flights online is more expensive. Anyone know when they go down, for instance Wednesday early mornings, Monday late evening or whatever?

Do You Know An Hardly Known Website to Get Cheap Airline Tickets with Short Notice? I need a one way ticket from South Carolina to the NYC area on short notice in January. Preferable Charleston (CHS) to Newark (EWR). I bought a one way ticket for Dec 28 with one stop over from AirTran for $95 + tax.I just don't know when in January I want to return. Airline Tickets, Does anyone buy direct anymore as they are double or triple the price of internet discounters I am amazed at the huge price differences the airline companies charge as opposed to buying online from booking companies like Priceline.com, orbitz, expedia, travelocity, hotwire and many others. I have someone else who wants it and orbitz said no. They said the tickets are owned by delta and they are non transferable. Buying airline ticket at orbitz? I need help fast please. Background: I book a flight to NY on Monday and a return trip on Tuesday on November 16-17 (3 weeks from now). I'm booking a ticket on orbitz and I bought the 17 dollar insurance that covers "Reimburses costs if you cancel plans or interrupt your trip" But then I see something that says like within 24 hours or 10 days guaranteed??? Big problems cancelling Continental Airline refundable ticket through Orbitz? Knowing plans might change, on Orbitz, I purposely searched for refundable fares (by checking "only show refundable fares" under expanded search options). Additional note, I needed to cancel because they jacked up my father and I's boarding pass names because they said they don't put middle names on boarding passes (we both have the same first/last names). I smelt something fishy was going on when they said we have to put Mr. John Smith on one ticket and John Smith on the other. Now when trying to cancel and get my refund back. Their policy is NOT to deposit the entire amount back into a cc account, but I get my money back as a credit for a future flight. The problem with this is is that in order to fly somewhere else you must pay $250 fee per ticket and additional $30 fee per ticket and any additional airline rate fare increases in the future. So for my dad and I to fly from Houston to Corpus Christi, it will cost me $540 + $560 of fees! Info on their site (and probably most airlines) is very vague and dubious. Orbitz shafts its customers and have no personal care for their customers like Southwest Airlines does! The moral of the story is never book so-called refundable fares through a travel agency, especially in these so-called "financial crisis" times.

Hello, How is it that taxes on airline tickets can vary so much between airlines when the ticket price before? I find it very peculiar how taxes vary so much, as much as 100% or more between various airlines. When these competitors list their prices, say on Expedia or Orbitz.com, one airline's price will be say $275 and the other, $300, but the first one's taxes are $100 and the other one is $50.00 Is this a lawful transaction, charging more taxes in an efort to seemingly have a better price? This perhaps explains why when you are searching for deals, the prices you see never include the taxes in BOLD but rather, you have to click on +taxes which is not in BOLD. In other word's, Airline A's price is $275+$80.00(not shown) and airline B's price is $300+$40(not shown) Airline A appears to be cheaper but in actuality is $45 more. Please help me to accept the world in which we live. Andy Rooney, are you out there!
