Us Airways Airlines Reservations Airline Tickets Knowledge Base
US Airways worst airline ever? Bad mishaps with US AW? Is flying USAW going to ruin starting of my vacation? I just had a friend who flew with US Airways with a baby and she said it was the worst airline she had ever been with. She said that she accidentally booked wrong date and after making about 8-9 phone calls to customer service, they gave her credit and told her she could make another reservation. When she tried to make the reservation, they charged her $100 changing fee (costs as much as the ticket $110). She said that she was never informed of that and she asked to change it back to old date but they wouldn't do it without charging her $100 again. Also, at the gate, they charged her extra $35 for storing the baby's stroller on the plane. On top of that, the airline "accidentally" sold her ticket to someone else so she didn't have a seat on airplane. She was asked to wait for the next flight to see if there were empty seats on that plane. She fought and lucking some gentleman gave up his seat for her. I'm flying to Las Vegas and don't want to ruin my vacation, should I take US Airways?
Has anyone had a problem with US Airways asking you to sign up for a credit card before purchasing a flight? I tried to purchase an airline ticket from USAirways.com. I thought I had purchased a ticket two months ago. However, when I called them to confirm this morning, they had no record of my purchase. I was very puzzled. I purchased another ticket and after I clicked the button marked "purchase", I was redirected to another screen that asked me to sign up for a US Airways credit card. In order to purchase my ticket, I had to either sign up for or decline the credit card. Only in very small print at the top of the page did it say "Click a button below to complete your ticket purchase. Closing this window will cancel your reservation". I realized then that the reason I did not have my previous reservation is that I had encountered this screen before and had not understood from the fine print that it was a barrier to purchasing a ticket. The original cost of my ticket two months ago was $153. Today, it was around $600. I had to buy two tickets, one for myself and one for my husband. So, in addition to feeling like a fool, I ended up paying a premium of $350 because US Airways duped me into thinking that I had purchased a ticket when I had not. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Airline re-scheduled/canceled flight, anything I can do? I was scheduled to make a flight with US Airways leaving at 5:45 AM, making a 40-minute layover, and arriving at my destination at 1:19 PM. I've had these reservations since 2/20. I was just called yesterday by the travel agency letting me know that US Air changed their schedule, making it impossible for me to make my connecting flight. They told me I could either cancel for a refund or change to a flight that left at 12:25 AM and still got there at the same time, with a 4-hour layover somewhere else. Those are TERRIBLE times for us, especially since we live 3-1/2 hours from the airport and I don't do well without sleep. When I looked into getting a refund and re-booking with another airline, the tickets have now DOUBLED. We can't change or cancel our reservations as we are staying at a resort. Do I have any options here? If I contact US Airways, is there any chance they'd give me an upgrade or discount on a future flight or anything else I can do? Also, the flight isn't leaving until June so there's no way it was canceled due to weather and the cost was $940 (2 tickets); now the going rate for 2 tickets is over $1800.
Any airline experts out there? I booked my flight and vacation 3 weeks ago for April 27th- May 1st.... On US Airways and now I wish I would of made it for an extra day to the 2nd of May... These are non refundable tickets and it stinks because the price of the tickets dropped $500 since I made my reservation. 1. How can I talk US into letting me change to the next day (which I checked and they have many available flights), without charging me an arm and a leg to do so. 2. How can I get the newer less expensive rate or credits towards a future flight?? Or if anybody could direct me to somewhere I might find any type of suggestions. Thanks!!
