How to track a flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Newark, NJ USA?? I am trying to track my husbands flight right now. He flew out of Sao Paulo, Brazil a few hours ago and is flying into Newark NJ. He's not close enough to the US yet for some of these sites to track it. All the flight tracking sites I can find only track US and Canada areas. Does anyone know a site I can use to track international flights like that? Here are the ones I have already tried that don't work: flight aware flight explorer flight view If anyone knows of any others that would be much appreciated! Thanks! Just excited to see my husband who has been gone for a week for business!! :)

How do I know what terminal this flight will arrive in at Newark Airport? First off, I know I am new at this! I've never picked anyone up from an airport before. I am looking for a particular flight number that will be arriving within the next few weeks (in order to pick my lady up). She'll be arriving at Newark International Airport. The question is--how do I know which Terminal her flight is going to arrive in? The itinerary says "United Airlines (operated by Continental Airlines)". Which terminal will she arrive at in this case? Please note: the list of arrival terminals seem to be here http://www.panynj.gov/airports/ewr-airlines.html . Annoyingly, however, it lists the Continental arrival Terminal to be C / B...I really do not want her to wait as I check both terminals (if I decide it's going to be that instead of United Airlines, which is Terminal A). Is there any way I can look up her flight, given that the Newark site only seems to track flights that are coming within a day or two?
Why do illegal aliens get a free ride home at US taxpayer expense? Now Boarding: Illegal Immigrants On One-Way Tickets Home (by Miriam Jordan, WSJ.com) KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- While U.S. airlines downsize and scrimp on amenities, one carrier is offering its passengers leather seats, ample legroom and free food. But frequent fliers probably don't want a ticket on what may be the fastest growing "airline" serving Central America. This carrier is run by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement [ICE], the federal agency responsible for finding and deporting undocumented immigrants. A crackdown on illegal immigration has led to a spike in deportations and the creation of a de facto airline to send the deportees home. The air service, called Repatriate by air-traffic controllers, is known simply as ICE Air to agency employees. Its planes have headrests emblazoned with ICE's name and seal. In-flight service is polite. "For a lot of these immigrants, it has been a long journey to the U.S.," said Michael J. Pitts, chief of flight operations for deportations and removals at ICE. "This is going to be the last impression they have of the United States. We want to provide good service." Mr. Pitts, a former military pilot, said ICE Air operates much like a commercial carrier, flying passengers to hub cities where they connect to international flights. But those hub cities -- such as Mesa, Ariz., and Alexandria, La., which are close to illegal-immigrant detention sites -- are relatively obscure. And the final destinations are primarily in Latin America, including up to three flights daily to Guatemala City and two to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Mr. Pitts also recently launched service to the Philippines, Indonesia and Cambodia. In all, the U.S. government deports people to more than 190 countries. Outside of Mexico, ICE flew home 76,102 illegal immigrants in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, up from 72,187 last year and 50,222 two years ago. ICE Air's patrons are what the airline industry calls "non-revenue passengers," since Washington foots the bill at $620 a person on average for the one-way flight home. The agency now flies 10 aircraft, twice as many as last year, including leased and government jets. From Kansas City, Mr. Pitts' team coordinates with 24 ICE field offices and monitors all flights. On a recent morning, staffers tracked seven ICE Air flights to Central America on an electronic wall map. Three schedulers worked the phones and emailed frantically to place immigrants on future flights. "We have 30 El Salvadoran aliens ready to be removed," an official at an Arizona detention facility said by phone. Patty Ridley checked her roster and confirmed the seats on a flight scheduled to leave Mesa, Ariz., for San Salvador two weeks later. Another scheduler, Dawnesa Williams, who previously worked as a corporate travel agent, coordinated the journey of an illegal immigrant from Bakersfield, Calif. Like mainstream carriers, ICE knows it gets more bang for the buck if it can fill every seat, so it doesn't schedule any flight until it has a critical mass of deportees. "We are making a valiant attempt to overbook," said Mr. Pitts. Sometimes passengers get bumped, he said, "to make room for priority cases." Those might be convicted criminals who are wanted by their country or individuals eager to get home due to a family emergency. http://www.studentnewsdaily.com/daily-news-article/now-boarding-illegal-immigrants-on-one-way-tickets-home/
WHY DOES MOTHER OF FLIGHT 77 VICTIM BELIEVE FLIGHT 77 DID NOT HIT THE PENTAGON? So what happened to flight 77? A Grieving Mother Wonders What Really Happened on 9/11 by Marion Kminek, mother of Mari-Rae Sopper, who was killed on American Airlines Flight 77 on September 11, 2001. Flight 77 was the only hijacked plane that could not be tracked by radar the whole way as it lost radar contact near the Ohio/Kentucky border. So by this fact, Flight 77 could have gone anywhere since it's transponder was turned off and as some people claim only the military could track it and thereby staying perfectly hidden from all radar of the civil authorities. Some people might think that it's absurd that a large aircraft such as a Boeing 757 could be flown somewhere else without anybody noticing. However, this is exactly what happened to a similar Boeing aircraft in Africa... A senior U.S. official confirms that the government of Angola has reported a missing Boeing 727 aircraft. The plane apparently departed from Angola several days ago on a flight to Burkina Faso, in northwestern Africa, but it never made it to its destination, and its whereabouts are unknown, this official said." -CNN (05/30/03) On September 11, 2001, our daughter had her life cut short at the age of 35. After practicing law in the Navy JAG Corps and then with a corporate law firm in Washington, D.C., she accepted her dream job to become the head women’s gymnastics coach at UCSB. Her condo was up for sale, the movers had picked up her furniture, her car had been shipped, and then she boarded American Airlines Flight 77 to begin her new life. As we approach the fifth anniversary of her death, more and more unanswered questions have surfaced regarding the events of 9/11. Here are just a few of the questions that bother me most: When President Bush learned of the second plane hitting the South Tower, he seemed puzzled, but not particularly upset or surprised. He continued reading to the children. The Secret Service is trained to act quickly and decisively to protect the president why did they let him remain in a public place for more than seven minutes when our country was allegedly under attack? According to radar data, American Airlines (AA) 77 was flying at 400 mph at 9:35 a.m. and passed over the Pentagon at 7,000 feet. The plane then made a very difficult high-speed descending turn in a downward spiral, dropping 7,000 feet in two-and-a-half minutes. How could the terrorists have done this difficult turn when their flight instructors have stated they were incompetent as pilots of even a small plane? Pictures of the Pentagon after the impact show an entry hole much too small for a 757 to have crashed into the building. How can that be? A C-130 military cargo plane that “happened” to be flying near the Pentagon was asked by air traffic control if he could see AA 77 and report its position. The same pilot later also “happened” to be in the same area as United Airlines Flight 93, and was asked to give 93’s position. Isn’t this a strange coincidence? On September 13, 2001, in violation of a domestic flight ban, three Saudi royal family members flew to Kentucky in a private Lear jet from a private Raytheon hangar in Tampa, Florida. This flight took place several hours after a private meeting between President Bush and Prince Bandar, Saudi ambassador to the U.S. Tampa International Airport officials, former secretary of state Colin Powell, and former White House anti-terror adviser Richard Clarke all confirmed this information. Between September 14 and 19, about 140 Saudis - including 24 members of the bin Laden family were evacuated to Saudi Arabia. For two years, this violation of the domestic flight ban was denied by the Federal Aviation Administration, FBI, and White House. Those evacuated include: the son of the Saudi defense minister, the latter of whom allegedly contributed at least $6 million since 1994 to four charities that financed Al Qaeda; Khalil bin Laden, who has been investigated by the Brazilian government for possible terrorist connections; Abdullah bin Laden, the U.S. director of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth, a Muslim charity accused of funding terrorism; and Akberali Moawalla, who owned a joint bank account with Osama bin Laden from which there was a transfer of more than $250 million in 2000. MSNBC has reported that members of the Saudi royal family met frequently with Osama bin Laden both before and after 9/11. Why were these people allowed by our government to leave our country after 9/11? Just prior to 9/11, there was unusual stock activity related to short-selling and put options, which are both high-risk bets that a stock’s value will depreciate. Early in September 2001, there was a 40 percent increase in short-selling of American and United Airlines stock on the New York Stock Exchange. On September 10, trading ratios on United Airlines were 25 times greater than normal on the Pacific Exchange. The firm used to buy many of the put optio If it seems too crazy to believe that anyone in our country could have been involved in the 9/11 attacks, please consider Operation Northwoods. On May 1, 2001, ABC News reported the following: “In the early 1960s, America’s top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba. Code-named Operation Northwoods, the plans reportedly included the possible assassination of Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees on the high seas, hijacking planes, blowing up a U.S. ship, and even orchestrating violent terrorism in U.S. cities! The plans were developed as ways to trick the American public and the international community into supporting a war to oust Cuba’s then new leader, communist Fidel Castro. … The plans had the written approval of all of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and were presented to President Kennedy’s defense secretary, Robert McNamara, in March 1962. http://www.bestandworst.com/v/102940.htm Cake or e....? Tell that to her grieving parents and they will tell you that YOU are in fact the cancer. No cure for you though. Because yours is a cancer of the soul. Tedward is just another shameless 15 dollar an hour shill, a lie mercenary who can't get a proper job. May the deaths of all those innocent US citizens be on his and his ilk's conscience, though I doubt they have any.

Someone stole my phone in IAH, took out my SIM card, added me on facebook, and I want it back.? I was in the IAH airport in Texas after a very long international flight. My iphone turned up missing before my next flight left, and I searched all over for it. Checked the lost and found, asked the airport police, but it was nowhere to be found. This was on July 3rd. Fast-forward to tonight, and the girl who found/stole my phone added me on facebook. What a slap in the face. I looked through her profile history back to July 3rd, where I found her bragging about the new iphone she found in the airport. She continued on about how she was trying to make sure she couldn't be tracked with it, but she added me on facebook for some unknown reason. Do I have ANY recourse? I know she has my phone, and I now have her phone number and name. I reported the phone as stolen once I arrived home on July 4th, if that helps. Can I go to the police? Anything?
Philadelphia Airport Parking? I am looking to park off the airport for a flight from Philadelphia International airport. Has anyone had experience bad or good parking in one of the facilities like Wally Park or Fast Track or any of the other companies?
What is all about with Lt. Commander Lisa Marie Caputo Nowak and the Vatican ? Lt. Commander Nowak’s flight across the United States yesterday from Tucson, Arizona where she was an ‘official’ NASA Observer with the Vatican Observatory Research Group Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope (VATT), at the Mount Graham International Observatory (MGIO) in southeastern Arizona. These reports further state that the Vatican Telescope was tracking the ‘anomalous object’ that had ‘grazed’ our Earth’s atmosphere over Siberia causing 100 square kilometers to be covered with the ‘residue’ this past week, and which many reports from that region described as ‘multi-coloured’ snow. The ‘anomalous object’ was then reportedly ‘brought down’ by US Strategic Command Forces over North America on Sunday, and which resulted in an enormous Fireball seen throughout the Northern Regions of the Untied States, after which Lt. Commander Nowak began her attempt to flee the United States for protection form the Vatican. Our previous reports have long detailed the Vatican’s previous attempts to provide ‘safe havens’ to both American and Russian space officials, as well as their infiltrations of the United States space agency NASA. Virtually unreported in the Western media have been the long standing efforts by the Vatican to utilize the World’s space agencies in preparing for what they believe will be the precursor ‘event’ to the Great Earthquake foretold by their ancient prophecies, and which many believe the passing of the Great Comet of 2007 has indeed foretold. To what exactly led too Lt. Commander Nowak’s fearful run to flee the United States for the protection of the Vatican it is within our knowing. But, even more strangely than this reason is the fact that rather than accept the truth of Lt. Commander Nowak’s fears, the American people have been so indoctrinated that they will, instead, believe that one of their Nations top female graduates of their Naval Academy, distinguished female Navy Pilot with over ‘1,100 flight hours in more than 30 different aircraft’, and NASA Astronaut, could even commit such a fairy tale crime as is being put upon this woman.

Can you believe that US Government Defense system is spending 1000s of dollars to "Track Santa"? Seriously??!? Military center tracking Santa's sleigh ride COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Who says Santa Claus doesn't exist? The military personnel charged with being the eyes in the sky are certainly acting like he does — and they've been joined on the Internet by millions of believers. Even doubters have reason to pause when they hear the North American Aerospace Defense Command — or NORAD, which monitors air and space threats against the U.S. and Canada — is in charge of the annual Christmas mission to keep children informed of Santa's worldwide journey to their homes. "They challenge it, but only to a point," said Senior Master Sgt. Sharon Ryder-Platts, 49, who for five years has been a Santa tracker, taking calls from those wanting to know the location of jolly old St. Nick. According to NORAD, Santa began his latest flight early Wednesday at the International Date Line in the Pacific Ocean. Historically, Santa visits the South Pacific first, then New Zealand and Australia. NORAD points out that only Santa knows his route. Last year, NORAD's Santa tracking center answered 94,000 calls and responded to 10,000 e-mails. About 10.6 million visitors went to the Web site, which can be viewed in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese and Chinese. (I get it, Santa is the spirit of Christmas, and it's great for the Children, But in this economy to pay people to answer the phones, work the computer systems and "track santa" it's just a big waste of money in this economy. I VOTE EVERY single Election since I was 18. I voted in every election in 2004 and every election in 2008. I love the Spirit of Christmas! I really really do. But with everyone needing "Bail outs' why spend alot of money for something that happens once a year. Me and my family even fight for this Country! With a Brother overseas right now, missing his third Christmas, Don't you dare tell me about the spirit of Christmas! It's because of what we Do, Makes you guys have another Christmas safe. Of course there not going to tell you how much they spend. "They want you to have the Spirit Of Christmas! God Bless our Troops and God Bless the Men and Women who make this Country Safe! Of course there not going to tell you how much they spend. "They want you to have the Spirit Of Christmas! God Bless our Troops and God Bless the Men and Women who make this Country Safe!
The Dems are focused on Craig when they ignore their own problems and corruption. Why isn't this a top story? Tuesday, August 28, 2007 -Wall Street Journal A poor family is making big donations to Hillary Clinton... and their donations just happen to track with the donations of a wealthy Chinese businessman. One of the biggest sources of political donations to Hillary Rodham Clinton is a tiny, lime-green bungalow that lies under the flight path from San Francisco International Airport. Six members of the Paw family, each listing the house at 41 Shelbourne Ave. as their residence, have donated a combined $45,000 to the Democratic senator from New York since 2005, for her presidential campaign, her Senate re-election last year and her political action committee. In all, the six Paws have donated a total of $200,000 to Democratic candidates since 2005, election records show. That total ranks the house with residences in Greenwich, Conn., and Manhattan's Upper East Side among the top addresses to donate to the Democratic presidential front-runner over the past two years, according to an analysis by The Wall Street Journal of donations listed with the Federal Election Commission. It isn't obvious how the Paw family is able to afford such political largess. Records show they own a gift shop and live in a 1,280-square-foot house that they recently refinanced for $270,000. William Paw, the 64-year-old head of the household, is a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service who earns about $49,000 a year, according to a union representative. Alice Paw, also 64, is a homemaker. The couple's grown children have jobs ranging from account manager at a software company to "attendance liaison" at a local public high school. One is listed on campaign records as an executive at a mutual fund. The Paws' political donations closely track donations made by Norman Hsu, a wealthy New York businessman in the apparel industry who once listed the Paw home as his address, according to public records. Mr. Hsu is one of the top fund-raisers for Mrs. Clinton's presidential campaign. He has hosted or co-hosted some of her most prominent money-raising events. People who answered the phone and the door at the Paws' residence declined requests for comment last week. In an email last night, one of the Paws' sons, Winkle, said he had sometimes been asked by Mr. Hsu to make contributions, and sometimes he himself had asked family members to donate. But he added: "I have been fortunate in my investments and all of my contributions have been my money." He's got $45,000 laying around and decides to continue living at home with mom and dad instead of getting his own apartment? I guess he's really committed to the cause. Ohiofirefighter, I guess it's important to someone with a lower than average mentality. Most of the country didn't even know who Craig was until a couple of days ago. He wasn't exactly a prominent member of the Senate.

Syria massacres Kurds aided by Turkey's Israel-made drones! Why Israel sold those drones to Turkish Regime? Syrian troops and Kurdish tribesman are locked in fierce battle since the Syrian army blasted four northeastern Kurdish towns and neighborhoods at the end of June. Hundreds of Kurds are reported dead. The Syrian campaign is backed by Heron (Eitan) spy drones Israel sold Turkey, made accessible on the personal say-so of Prime Minister Tayyip Recep Erdogan. The drones are being used to track Kurds in flight across Syria's borders, mainly into Lebanon, where Hizballah is helping Syria hunt the refugees down. The accessibility to Damascus of the unmanned aerial vehicles is in direct breach of the Israel-Turkish sales contracts which barred their use - and the use of other Israeli high-tech items sold to Turkey during years of close military collaboration - in the service of hostile states or entities. Extending their sphere to Syrian and Lebanese skies gives the Syrian army and Hizballah (Iran's external arm) a unique opportunity to study the Heron (Eitan)'s sophisticated attributes in real combat conditions at close hand and adjust their own tactics accordingly to outwit them. International sources have no doubt that Iranian intelligence officers stationed in Damascus and Beirut jumped at the opportunity to learn more about the Israeli wonder-drones. EMERGENCY REPORT: Space Station Trash Plunging to Earth! This can do ALOT of damage!? Space Station Trash Plunging to Earth! This can do ALOT of damage! (Oct. 31) - A piece of space station trash the size of a refrigerator is poised to plunge through the Earth's atmosphere late Sunday, more than a year after an astronaut tossed it overboard. NASA and the U.S. Space Surveillance Network are tracking the object - a 1,400-pound tank of toxic ammonia coolant thrown from the International Space Station - to make sure it does not endanger people on Earth. Exactly where the tank will inevitably fall is currently unknown, though it is expected to re-enter Earth's atmosphere Sunday afternoon or later that evening, NASA officials said. Amazing Space ImagesNASA TV / AP32 photos Scientists expect a 1,400-pound tank of toxic ammonia coolant that was thrown from the International Space Station a year ago to plunge through the Earth's atmosphere Sunday. One NASA expert says it's unlikely that the debris will hit anyone. This image shows the piece of hardware after an astronaut tossed it overboard on July 23, 2007. Click through for amazing space photos.(Note: Please disable your pop-up blocker) "This has got a very low likelihood that anybody will be impacted by it," said Mike Suffredini, NASA's space station program manager, in an interview. "But still, it is a large object and pieces will enter and we just need to be cautious." NASA astronaut Clayton Anderson threw the ammonia tank from the tip of the space station's Canadian-built robotic arm during a July 23, 2007 spacewalk. He also tossed away an unneeded video camera stand overboard as well, but that 212-pound item burned up harmlessly in the atmosphere early this year, Suffredini said. NASA expects up to 15 pieces of the tank to survive the searing hot temperatures of re-entry, ranging in size from about 1.4 ounces to nearly 40 pounds. If they reach all the way to land, the largest pieces could slam into the Earth's surface at about 100 mph (62 kph). But a splashdown at sea is also possible, as the planet is two-thirds ocean. Known as the Early Ammonia Servicer (EAS), the coolant tank is the largest piece of orbital trash ever tossed overboard by hand from the space station. Larger unmanned Russian and European cargo ships are routinely destroyed in the Earth's atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean after their space station deliveries, but those disposals are controlled and preplanned. The recent destruction of the European Space Agency's Jules Verne cargo ship was eagerly observed by scientists hoping to glean new information on how objects behave as they enter Earth's atmosphere. Observers aboard two chase planes caught photographs and video of the double-decker bus-sized spacecraft's demise, but no such campaign is possible with the returning ammonia tank. The last object to re-enter the Earth's atmosphere with prior notice was a small asteroid the size of a kitchen table that exploded in midair as it flew over Africa on Oct. 7. During its time aboard the station, the tank served as a coolant reservoir to boost the outpost's cooling system in the event of leaks. Upgrades to the station last year made the tank obsolete, and engineers were concerned that its structural integrity would not withstand a ride back to Earth aboard a NASA space shuttle. Instead, they tossed it overboard, or "jettisoned" it in NASA parlance. Is it right to separate families that are illegal? After a fit of last-minute pleas for intervention went unheeded, three members of the Novato family whose legal saga has garnered national attention were deported Wednesday evening. Salvador Mejia and Elida Perez, along with their 4-year-old daughter Dulce, boarded a flight bound for Guatemala, where they will live for at least the next 10 years, barring an unforeseen change in their legal status. Before doing so, they were met by an immigration official at San Francisco International Airport and were stripped of the electronic ankle bracelets they'd worn so the government could track their movement. Mejia and Perez decided to allow their 13-year-old daughter, Helen, a freshman at Novato High School, to stay behind and at least finish out her school year. She will be staying at the family's Alameda del Prado home with her uncle Jaime, Perez's brother, a U.S. citizen. Gilbert Mejia-Perez, an 18-year-old Novato High grad who is attending Santa Rosa Junior College, is also staying behind as he awaits his own deportation hearing, set for July 28, 2010. "They want to stay here but they need and want us to stay with them," Elida Perez said of her children before she departed. "This is a huge change for all of us, and we're very, very sad." Mejia and Perez, along with Gilbert, 1, arrived in the United States in 1992, fleeing a country torn apart by civil war and seeking opportunity. Mejia worked as a carpenter and Perez as a housekeeper and caregiver for the elderly. The couple had two more children, both U.S. citizens, bought a home in Novato in 2002 and were active members of Mission San Rafael Arcangel in San Rafael. But they never were able to obtain green cards and get on the path to legal residency in the United States. In March 2007, the family's home was raided by immigration agents in a case of mistaken identity. But although the person agents were seeking didn't live there, they determined that Mejia, Perez and Gilbert Mejia-Perez were living in the U.S. illegally, and the deportation process began. Why aren't airlines required to track or report medical incidents? Delta: Body Of Woman, 61, Found In Plane Bathroom ATLANTA - Flight attendants discovered the body of a 61-year-old woman in the restroom of a plane shortly before the flight landed in Atlanta Wednesday morning, a spokeswoman for the airline said. It was unclear how Michaele O'Neil Carnahan died, and how long she was in the restroom. The crew on the Los Angeles-to-Atlanta flight noticed the restroom was occupied on final approach, just before Flight 950 touched down at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 5:51 a.m., spokeswoman Keyra Johnson said. Atlanta police were notified and met the plane at the gate, Johnson said. "Delta extends its condolences to the family and commends our flight crew and medical professionals onboard who handled this incident with the utmost professionalism and respect for which they are known," spokeswoman Betsy Talton wrote in an e-mail. The body was taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in suburban Atlanta for an autopsy scheduled for Thursday, said GBI spokesman John Bankhead. Authorities were awaiting the results to determine the cause of death, Bankhead said. Bankhead said Carnahan was on her way from her home in Ventura, Calif., to Florida for a wedding. Atlanta police stationed at the airport respond to calls about dead bodies on airplanes a couple of times a year, said Officer Eric Schwartz, a police spokesman. Talton said the situation was rare, but flight crews are trained to handle "a number of situations on board." Airlines are not required to track or report the medical incidents they handle, so an exact tally of in-flight deaths is hard to determine. MedAire, an Arizona-based company that staffs doctors on the ground to advise flight crews in a medical emergency, counted 89 deaths for the flights they handled in 2006, which represents about one-third of the world's commercial flights. If the death rate is similar for the rest of the flights, annual deaths on airplanes could exceed 260. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080730/ap_on_re_us/delta_body_found;_ylt=AuyhYhcQNCdAadNDXYlEuLgDW7oF

Yodastatoo, way to answer the question! You're a true-blue-Lib. Thanks Azawalli, agian, way to answer the question. Love that childish, Liberal name calling you all resort to when hit with the truth. I can see, once again that getting a straight answer out of the Libs is impossible. Always the arrow and never the Indian. I'm not taking up for Craig. If he's guilty of this then he's wrong, but you Libs stare corruption in the face via your own party and you blame others and continue to take up for them. Brings me back to Barney Frank and Jim McGreevy.
NASA astronaut Clayton Anderson threw the ammonia tank from the tip of the space station's Canadian-built robotic arm during a July 23, 2007 spacewalk. 7. Can I bring whey protein on an international flight? I'm going to New Zealand/Australia from the U.S. and want to bring my whey protein with me for my workouts. I'd have it in my checked bags. Even though I don't think anyone would suspect it's cocaine, I'd rather not have it confiscated or get denied access to either country because of it. I don't know what cocaine smells or taste like, but I would doubt it would taste like chocolate or strawberries! I'm going for a conservation project during my summer of from college. I did this before and we're usually working in remote locations; working for a week and move around every week. I won't have a chance to get to the store and won't have an address to order anything. I know what kind of powdered protein I like so it would be best if I could just bring it along rather than finding something once I'm there. I'm a thrower on the track team so I need to keep up with my workouts and the proper nutrition that goes along with it: I can't take an entire summer off.

How is my story so far? Any tips/advice? Priscilla, Diana, Jackie, Aileen, and Salina, together we are the fantastic five, saving the world from evil by having a strong friendship. Haha JK about saving the world, but we are the fantastic five and we do have a strong friendship. Our “clique”, “groupie”, “club”, “circle”, or whatever you want to identify us, includes: Priscilla, Jackie, Salina, Aileen, and Diana. Each of us has different looks, backgrounds, personalities, qualities, talents, and lots of other stuff that makes us what we are, well, best friends. Diana the artist, Aileen the overachiever, Priscilla the social and personality, Jackie the athlete, and Salina the singer, we are all different in many ways but that is why we get along so well. This summer, the summer after middle school and before high school, will be the most challenging, exciting, scary, adventurous, surprising, and overall, awesome summer ever. The five of our lives are essentially never going to be the same after this summer of twist, turns, and through streets that just may seem like dead ends. The 8th grade year has come to an end. Many wonderful times and many more dreadful times, but we got through it, together. When I mean “we”, I mean my little clique of friends: Aileen, Jackie, Salina, Diana, and me. After all the complicated work, all the struggles to get through 8th grade and move on in life, everything is finally over. Everything in this story is “we” because we are always together, through the good times and the bad, and we are always part of each other, none complete without another. “All students please report to the commons immediately for the 8th grade ceremony.” Mrs. Merritt announced on the loudspeaker. Jackie, Aileen, Priscilla, Salina, and Diana were sitting in the front row of seats in our 4th period Language Arts class, in that exact order and stood up to go to the commons. “Oh my god!” Jackie screamed at the top of her lungs. “Do you know what this means?” “Oh my god! We are gonna get our little certificate thingies for like, best dressed and stuff!” Priscilla yelled also screaming at the top of her lungs. Then, Jackie, Diana, and Priscilla began waving their hands in the air and screaming like the little girly girls they are. Salina kept staring at us, obliviously not believing how weird we are. Aileen on the other hand was also waving her hands and screaming but not for the same purpose, she was mocking them. “Hey! We are just excited so back off!” Diana shot to Aileen after giving her a sharp glare. Then at that point in time, we all began cracking up and giggling because we were SO not going to start a fight right before Middle School Graduation! “Come on students; let’s get our butts down to the commons now!” Mrs. Walker, our 4th period Language Arts Honors teacher, yelled loudly in her military tone. “Affirmative, Sir yes sir!” A voiced spoke out. The voice was obliviously Jimmy’s, Jimmy Schmidt, I mean; he has always been one to crack jokes. The class began to break into hysterics, even Mrs. Walker. “Okay okay, that’s enough jokes for one year; now seriously, let’s get down there!” The assembly was extremely tedious and strenuous, but finally it was time for the 8th grade awards. “For MVP for ###################### track, I am honored to award “Iliane Isakahrvo” with the ###################### certificate.” Mr. Chicka announced. Mr. Chicka, the vice principal, is always the one participating in announcements, awards, school events, and pretty much everything. Gauche silence. “It’s Aileen, Aileen Isakharov you retard!” Aileen, Priscilla, Salina, Jackie, and Diana shrieked and right after that, they dropped down under the chairs so they wouldn’t get caught, a perfect way to end the school year. “Ahummm… I’m sorry, Aileen, let me say that again.” “For MVP for ######################, I am honored to award Aileen Isakharov with the ###################### certificate.” Well, like the old saying goes, the second try is always the best! Umm…….. not really but whatever, lets just pretend that is the saying, okay? A loud applause followed by screams, mostly from Priscilla, Salina, Jackie, and Diana, Aileen walks up to the microphone “Go Chickens. Peace out.” Then, again, more applause. “Next, for most talented, Salina Abraham!” Thank God he pronounced her name correctly. “Thank you so much everybody, I would like to thank my parents and friends ---“ “Excuse me, Ms. Abraham, a speech is not necessary.” Salina ignores Mr. Chicka and continues to talk, until, well, the school security comes. She says one last “thank you” and is forced off the stage, talk about guts! “Okay…..Next, I would like to present Jackie Manson for the most dazzling smile. Congratulations!” Jackie scampers up to the stage, grabs the certificate, and squeals an “Oh my god!” so high pitched, I swear, the windows should have broken, but instead the microphone made these screeching sounds, talk about magical powers! “For most creative student, Diana Chen come on up and receive your award!” She walks up there, takes the certificate, and then just simply walks back to her seat. “Last but not least, I would like to award ############ for most charming personality!” The crowd screams, whistles, and claps as Priscilla struts down the main walkway to the stage to claim her award. She walks up to Mr. Chicka, takes the certificate, and then walks to the microphone and says, “Thanks everybody! I am so honored, I love you all!” Then the crowd goes wild again, what a crowd pleaser! After the assembly, everyone was talking about “the fantastic five” and how we each got an award for something. I guess we are just simply amazing, like that’s a surprise. The awards ceremony took up so much time, by the time everyone was out of the commons, the bell rung at precisely 2:30 PM, indicating that school had ended and summer had begun. Oh yeah! Preppy4LIFE: OMG, I cannot believe school is over! PinkyInRussian: I <3 Chickens. DeeDi4Diana: Okay… that was random. Jaxgrrrrl: Yeah totally. I know! Lina123: So what are your guys’ plans for the summer? Dee4Diana: Maybe checking hot guys out? Preppy4LIFE: yeah on the internet. LOL. ;] Jaxgrrrrl: HAHA LOL. Lina123: LOL. :] PinkyInRussian: Oh my chicken, is that all you guys say on AIM? LOL? Lina123: At least we don’t say chicken between every other word. PinkyInRussian: HEY! I was kidding! Dee4Diana: Suuuuuurrrrreeee…. Whatever Aileen Jaxgrrrrl: I totally agree with Priscilla. LOL. PinkyInRussian: What’s with the whole “LOL” thing? You guys are :O Dee4Diana: OH no you didn’t! PinkyInRussian: OH yes I did. Preppy4LIFE: Ooooohhh watcha gonna do about that diss? Dee4Diana: Oh is on Aileen, bring it on. PinkyInRussian: It’s been brought. Jaxgrrrrl: We should totally do something together during summer! Preppy4LIFE: OMG, totally. We should go to…. Dee4Diana: Tokyo! Lina123: New York! PinkyInRussian: CHICKEN! Preppy4LIFE: uhh…. Okay… a bit random…… OMG this is gonna be fun! Jaxgrrrrl: How ‘bout Mexico? I mean it at least would be hot! Preppy4LIFE: OMFG! Awesome. I vote Jackie. Dee4Diana: Me too. Lina123: Me three. PinkyInRussian: Me four. Preppy4LIFE, PinkyInRussian, Lina123, Dee4Diana, Jaxgrrrrl: Perfect! From that moment on, all of our phones have been ringing off the hook due to all of us calling each other at every and any waking moment possible, to talk about the trip. It was planned. We would be flying from the SeaTac Airport to the El Rosa Airport at 4 AM on July 13, 2008 and come back exactly 6 weeks later. This would be our first big trip together and it would make our lives change forever, even more than we would have thought! We would be on flight number 1376 on Mexico International Airlines. There were five tickets, one for each of us, and we would be staying at Priscilla’s grandma’s friend’s home who just happens to live next door to This trip, though we may not know it, is going to change our lives and have many twists and turns that will carry all of us on a journey, together. “Flight 1376 is ready to board, I repeat, Flight 1376 is ready to board, if this is your flight, please report to terminal C9 to board the plane. Thank you.” That was our cue to get out of Starbucks and get going towards our terminal before we miss our plane, which wouldn’t be good, not good at all. Priscilla ordered a light caramel frappicino with triple shots and whipped cream, Salina ordered a mocha cappuccino, Jackie, a pumpkin spice frappicino, Diana a black coffee, and Aileen, a hot chocolate. After all our orders were completed, it was 3:40 AM! SHIT! That means that we have five minutes to run across the airport with drinks in one hand, luggage in the other, and whatever else Salina, Jackie, Priscilla, Diana, and/or Aileen might be carrying along. We pass California Pizza Kitchen, getting a little closer to our destination but with only four minutes left. We convert from a jog to a full out sprint and all of our drinks begin to spill along the edges of the cups and our luggage is practically being dragged, but none of this matters if we FREAKING GET ON THE PLANE IN TIME!!!! We get so desperate we just drop our drinks on the floor, pick up our bags, and run like there is no tomorrow, and there won’t be if we don’t get that plane! By the time we were in the C terminal, there was only one minute left! OMG! Running through the crowds of people and weaving through obstacles, we finally found terminal C9 and ran to the guy at the check-in counter and gave him our tickets. Then we tiredly dragged ourselves into the small tunnel that connected to the plane, picked our seats, conveniently all in one row, and dropped ourselves into the comfort of the supple leather seats and prepared for a journey of a lifetime. We each entertained ourselves with diverse activities throughout the long plane ride. Diana doodled on every possible little space in her notebook, both Jackie and Salina were listening and singing along to their IPODs, Priscilla was taking millions of pictures of herself with her new hot pink Polaroid digital camera, and Aileen was playing with her brand new Nintendo DS. Finally, three hours later, three ELONGATED hours later, we landed at the LAX Airport in Los Angeles, CA. Next, we were supposed to go on Flight 9286 to Mexico City, Mexico at 9:50 AM at terminal B3, according to Priscilla, and meet Priscilla’s grandma’s friend named Claire. For now on, let’s just call her Claire and not have to elucidate the whole Priscilla’s grandma’s friend thingy all the time. Anyways, it was about 7:15 AM and Salina’s and Priscilla’s stomachs were growling, what’s new? We all decided to go to Burger King for breakfast - I know, how healthy – and everybody ordered some kind of salad because this summer, we were all trying to lose a few pounds at the least. We had about 2 hours and 35 minutes to kill so we were strolling through the airport, shopping, getting drink and snacks, looking at books in BORDERS, and just pretty much browsing around. All five of us, I guess, were preoccupied with something because none of us had noticed the announcement for Flight 9286 at 8:50 AM! We found that out when we went to terminal B3 at 9:50 AM on the dot to board the plane and were told that the plane left an hour ago. Aileen had the initiative to ask the employee if we could catch another plane but unfortunately, flights to Mexico are infrequent so there wouldn’t be another one for about 4 weeks! What are we going to do in Los Angeles, CA for four weeks?! We can’t just decide to fly back to Washington because that would mean we came out here to California for nothing! We left Washington State looking for adventure and the best summer ever, and little did we know that what we were looking for was right around the corner. “Hey ummmm…. Mom?” Jackie said hesitantly. “Hi honey, aren’t you supposed to be on your flight right now?” Jackie’s mom answered back questionably. “Uhhhhh…. Yeah that’s the problem….. we kind of missed our flight…..” Silence. “WHHHAATTTT!!!!???” “Ummmm…. Well the worst part is that their wont be another flight to Mexico in four weeks.” Jackie says quietly. “Oh my god, young lady, you are going to be in so much trouble when you come back!” Jackie’s mom yells and then in a calmer voice, “Let me call your aunt who luckily lives in that area and have her pick you five up. Meanwhile, just stay there.” Psshhh…. Like we have any other place to go. The LAX Airport was a pretty exciting place to be considering the fact that some celebrity that we couldn’t see due to the crowds of paparazzi and the many security guards surround and what seemed to be, a tall blonde celebrity. We probably each thinking, Wow, I wish I was famous so I could be: in all these magazines and photos, filthy rich, have everyone worship me, known to all people, and able to do whatever I want. The paparazzi always following you everywhere, unlimited money, hang out with all the famous people in the magazines who you longed to be, and have special treatment anywhere you go, being famous would make life seem a lot easier. All of a sudden, the blonde celebrity began walking towards the ladies room and darted through the door. After her entrance, the five out of twelve bodyguards she had stood in a row covering the entrance to the restroom. “Oh my god, we have to get in there!” Priscilla whispered as she began to huddle the five of us into a tight circle. “So let’s decide the game plan now. Diana, get all your red inks and paints and color Salina’s “lower area” red, then Salina, go up to the security guards and ask for a tampon and say its an emergency. Then Diana, go up to the some of the other guys and start gibbering to them and just start talking REALLY fast. Jackie, you need to stand up on the tables and chairs and have like…..a singing performance or something. I dunno, you’ll think of something. All three of you need to distract the paparazzi, bodyguards, and people in the airport so Aileen and I can break in through the janitor’s entrance without being seen. We’ll be as quick as possible, I promise. Does each of you know your position?” Salina, Jackie, Aileen, and Diana all seemed confused by what Priscilla just explained and kind of just stood their shocked for a few moments and a minute later, they shot their hands in the middle of the huddle and yelled “BREAK!” The diabolical plan has begun.
What do you think of what I have written for far? For the first chapter for a book I am trying to write? Any thoughts or constructive criticism appreciated... : ) Sparkling patches of wet tar greeted Noah as he turned into Onslow Street. He knew the rule, his mom never tired of saying it during the summer: don’t park on the driveway when the street’s melting. But after today, Noah couldn’t care less, about mom's rules, about the driveway, about any of it. Slowing down as he pulled into the drive, he reached out and grabbed today's newspaper sticking out of the letterbox. As he tossed it into the empty passenger seat, he looked in the rear view mirror; tar tyre tracks trailed behind him. He barely noticed them, his mind firmly on Brianna, and the one-finger salute he’d seen her give in the same rear view mirror just fifteen minutes earlier; perhaps a fitting end for a relationship as rocky as theirs had been. He stopped his car, and grabbed his bag from the back seat, and the newspaper from the passenger seat. As he picked it up, his eyes caught the lead headline, which didn’t interest him much (some junk about a solar flare). He climbed out of his car, and as he walked towards the house he stuck two fingers into his right front pocket to get the door key. His jeans (ice wash Cheap Mondays, skinny fit) looked fly to him and those that mattered, but the pockets were a ***** to use. It was cooler inside, though not as cool as he would have liked. After closing the door behind him, he kicked off his flip-flops and dumped his bag and the paper onto the floor. The living room didn’t get much sun; that would be a refuge from the heat. Once there, Noah flopped back onto the sofa, Brianna still on his mind. He picked up the remote and turned on the TV. At four PM on a Saturday the prospects would not be good, but he needed a distraction, any distraction. As a re-run of a nineties sitcom appeared on the television, a plane flew overhead. It sounded large, probably a 747; its engines completely drowned out the laugh track for several seconds. Noah’s house lay under one of Auckland International Airport’s flight paths - flights flying to and from North America came over his house, typically at least two a day. Noah didn’t think much of the it at the time, but in the days and weeks that followed, he would often wonder about the fate of the (presumed) 747 and its passengers. Had the plane been an inbound flight, it would have touched down just before it all started. Of course, that was no guarantee the passengers survived the events which followed, but still, they would have had a chance. Had it been an outbound flight, it would have been thirty thousand miles over the Pacific Ocean when it began; that would have meant no chance at all.
What is the relationship between 911 and Saddam? By The Numbers On September 11th, 2001 4 Flights were hijacked. American Airlines Flight 11 which left Boston's Logan Airport bound for Los Angeles before being piloted into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.American Airlines Flight 77 which left Washington's Dulles International Airport bound for Los Angeles before being flown into the Pentagon. United Airlines Flight 93 which left Newark, N.J., bound for San Francisco before crashing in Stony Creek Township, Pa United Airlines Flight 175 which left Boston's Logan Airport bound for Los Angeles before being piloted into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. Why did the mastermind behind the attacks on America of September 11th, 2001 choose these particular flight numbers? MY THEORY ABOUT THE CHOICE OF FLIGHT 93 WAS THAT 1993 WAS THE YEAR IN WHICH SADDAM FIRST TRIED TO ASSASSINATE FORMER PRESIDENT BUSH IN KUWAIT, IT WAS ALSO THE YEAR IN WHICH SADDAM HUSSEIN FIRST TRIED TO DESTROY THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. IT TURNED OUT TO BE AN UNLUCKY NUMBER FOR SADDAM HUSSEIN BECAUSE THE PASSENGERS ON FLIGHT 93 BECAME HEROES AND STOPPED THE PLANE FROM GOING INTO THE WHITE HOUSE. (CBS) A high-ranking al Qaeda detainee told investigators the intended target of United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed into a Pennsylvania field on Sept. 11, was the White House. Government sources said Abu Zubaydah, now in U.S. custody, is believed to be the source of the information. He is being interrogated by U.S. officials at an undisclosed location. Investigators have linked Zubaydah directly to hijackers on board Flight 93. United Flight 93 took off from Newark, N.J., and crashed in Somerset County, Pa.. A recorder on the plane and calls made to people on the ground indicate passengers fought for control with the hijackers before it went down. The San Francisco-bound jet had turned toward Washington and U.S. fighter jets were flying to intercept it when it crashed. All 44 people aboard were killed. Officials previously had assumed the White House was a likely target, but said the Capitol and CIA headquarters in McLean, Va., near Washington were other possibilities.Abu Zubaydah is believed to have played a key role in organizing the Sept. 11 attacks, officials said. As al Qaeda's top operational planner, he ran the Khalden camp in Afghanistan, where U.S. investigators have learned many of the Sept. 11 hijackers trained. This suggests Abu Zubaydah may have had direct contact with the hijackers and chosen them for training. He also had telephone contacts with at least one Arab student at U.S. flight schools, according to a July 10, 2001, memo from a Phoenix FBI agent. The CIA, FBI and Pakistani authorities captured and wounded Abu Zubaydah in a raid by in Faisalabad, Pakistan, in March. He is believed to have masterminded the failed millennium bombing plots in Los Angeles and Jordan, and has been linked to failed plots on the U.S. embassies in Paris and Sarajevo. Abu Zubaydah was also indirectly linked, through a web of associations with other al Qaeda members in Europe, to lead Sept. 11 hijacker Mohammed Atta and his cell in Hamburg, Germany. Three members of the Hamburg cell were suicide hijackers; three others are still at large. Ziad Jarrah, believed to be the pilot-hijacker of Flight 93, was a member of the Hamburg cell." http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/05/20/attack/main509535.shtml The first attack on the World Trade Center on February 26th, 1993. What Arafat was doing was using the date of July 7th to re-write a perceived wrong he had felt some years earlier on another July 7th. It was on July 7th 1986 that the government of Jordan closed the offices of Yasser Arafat's al-Fatah. Because a bus bombing occurred in London on July 7th, 2005 it struck me that the nation that has endured more bus bombings than any other nation is Israel. There may be a connection between the July 7th, 2005 attacks in London and the terrorists who have targeted Israel with bus bombings for years. The threat to execute Sharif came a short time after al-Qaida organization in Iraq issued pictures for the identity cards of the Egyptian diplomat as an evidence that they are the ones which kidnapped him. The statement said the legitimate court of al-Qaida organization in Mesopotamia decided to "send the ambassador of the state of Egypt to the Mujahideen (indivduals from Egypt and other states that go to Iraq to fight with the insurgents) to execute the death penalty against him." The statement considered that "the embassies in Baghdad are but monitoring sites to snipe the arriving Mujahideen and preventing them from having access to their brothers in Jihad in the land of Mesopotamia (Iraq) and in Afghanistan." In an attempt to prove that the Egyptian ambassador is their possession, al-Qaida organization published documents including a driving Sharif's license and a work card for him at the foreign ministry and another one for health insurance. On Tuesday the organization claimed responsibility for kidnapping Sharif." American Airlines Flight 11 which left Boston's Logan Airport bound for Los Angeles before being piloted into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Saddam Hussein assassinated his first victim when he was 11 years old. Fixated on the number 11 ever since then he easily focused on the World Trade Center as a target because it looked so much like a number 11 that WPIX TV Channel 11 in New York City used the World Trade Center in its logo for years. The World Trade Center also housed an office of the Bank of Kuwait. Saddam used Rahman's group to punish Sadat for failing to defeat Israel in the attack on Israel of October 6th, 1973. Saddam also used Sheik Rahman's group to hit the Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament during the first Gulf War when Egypt sided with America against Iraq. Saddam, acting like a child who is deprived of a toy, who subsequently breaks that toy, set fire to the Kuwaiti oil fields as he was being driven out of Kuwait during the first Gulf War in 1991. Perhaps the following may explain how Saddam knew where former President Bush might be spending the night of September 10th-11th 2001: "Like everyone else in the United States, the group stood transfixed as the events of September 11 unfolded. Present were former secretary of defense Frank Carlucci, former secretary of state James Baker III, and representatives of the bin Laden family. This was not some underground presidential bunker or Central Intelligence Agency interrogation room. It was the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C., the plush setting for the annual investor conference of one of the most powerful, well-connected, and secretive companies in the world: the Carlyle Group. And since September 11, this little-known company has become unexpectedly important. That the Carlyle Group had its conference on America's darkest day was mere coincidence, but there is nothing accidental about the cast of characters that this private-equity powerhouse has assembled in the 14 years since its founding. Among those associated with Carlyle are former U.S. President George Bush Sr., former U.K. Prime Minister John Major, and former President of the Philippines Fidel Ramos. And Carlyle has counted, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz Alsaud of Saudi Arabia, and Osama bin Laden's family among its high-profile clientele." "The White House is bordered on three sides by buildings that are as tall or taller than itself. (OEOB, Treasury, and Blair House.) Beyond these buildings there are still more buildings, that also are taller than the White House. The only flight path that is relatively unobstructed if making a controlled, straight-in approach, is from the south, over the ellipse. Even the Marine helicopter the president uses comes in from this direction and lands on the South Lawn. The problem with flying a plane the size of a 757 or 767 in from this direction is that there's a 555 ft tall structure in the way called the Washington Monument. The Capitol, although a bigger target, is similarly situated. There are buildings on all sides except for the west side, which faces the Mall. Again, for a controlled, straight-in approach, a pilot first would need to avoid the Washington Monument, and then fly straight down the Mall. There is more room to do this, but again, it would take considerable skill. Moreover, the buildings in Roslyn, just across the river from and to the west of the Mall, would have to be cleared, which means the plane's altitude would probably be too high, or the angle of descent too steep to permit a successful attack by anyone other than a skilled, experienced pilot." Afghanistan is the world's No. 1 producer and distributor of heroin, and illicit drug trafficking is the biggest funding source for By Rachel Ehrenfeld / Special to The Detroit News About the author Rachel Ehrenfeld is director of the New York-based Center for the Study of Corruption and the author of "Evil Money" (HarperBusiness) and "Narco-Terrorism" (Basic Books). Moving the money... In the welter of events following the bombing of the World Trade Center in Feb. 26, 1993, few noticed that the first man arrested, Mohammed Salameh—the poor, unemployed illegal immigrant— offered $5 million for bail. Where could he get this kind of money? The judge refused bail. But was the source of Salameh's offer the same as the one that funded the eight men—arrested shortly afterward—who planned to blow up Manhattan's tunnels and bridges and to assassinate public officials? Were the same money sources behind the final attack on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11? ... For a long time, there has been evidence that terrorist, international drug trafficking and criminal organizations use the same fund-raising methods to enrich themselves. Yet no one seemed to connect the dots. And no one seriously tried to crack down on their financing. Bin Laden's is only one among many hostile international criminal organizations, often state-sponsored, that will do whatever they can to diminish the status of the United States as the only superpower. According to a State Department report, the Taliban, who are at bin Laden's service, has the advantage of controlling the world's largest heroin production and distribution in the world. Since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, the heroin production soared to hundreds of tons each year. In 1999 alone, the world production of heroin was estimated at 500 metric tons; 400 were produced by the Taliban and available to fund bin Laden and his associates worldwide. First warning The writing was on the wall on July 5, 1991, when the Bank of England shut down what was the most important Islamic bank in the world, the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI). This criminal entity was created by the Pakistani Aaga Hassan Abedi "to fight the evil influence of the West"; to help with the creation of the "Islamic Bomb"; to finance all Muslim terrorist organizations; and to launder the money that was generated mostly by illicit drug trafficking and other illegal activities, including arms trafficking. When BCCI went belly up, we learned from thousands of documents that Abu Nidal—the notorious Palestinian terrorist organization that now enjoys the hospitality of Iraq's Saddam Hussein, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hezbollah and bin Laden—had accounts in the bank. By the end of the 1980s, the "special services" provided by BCCI included access to Western humanitarian and international development funds, as well as drug money laundering, secret transfers of cash and bribes. A "Black Network," a special enforcement unit supported by Abu Nidal and other terrorist organizations, operated from Pakistan. The same Pakistan that harbored bin Laden for many years while its officials told the United States that they didn't know his whereabouts. And the same Pakistan that for decades, even according to the State Department's annual report, had been a major drug trafficking and money laundering center. Western blindness Yet, now more importantly, we also discovered that the American and British governments knew and kept the bank open for a long time. The bank "that would bribe God" was able to get away with its criminal activities for decades due to Abedi's clever portrayal of the Muslim nations as victims of Western—and particularly U.S.— "imperialism." And when the bank was shuttered, the accusation in the Muslim/Arab and Third World countries was that the U.S. and the United Kingdom governments closed the bank to curtail the growing fiscal power of Muslim countries. Like Abedi, anti-American, anti-Western terrorist and radical Muslim states and organizations, such as the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, the PLO, Iraq and Iran, use Western democratic rhetoric to their advantage. But it is the willful blindness, mainly toward the growing volume of drug money laundering, exercised by Western bankers on the one hand and Western politicians on the other, that makes money laundering possible, despite the many laws and international conventions to control this phenomenon. The BCCI was the first warning to the West. The second warning about the abuse of European and American financial markets by terrorist organizations, as well as their involvement in the illicit arms and drug trade, was made in February 1994 by the British National Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS). The Organized Crime Unit of the NCIS warned that Middle East terrorist groups and states were targeting the financial centers of London, Frankfurt and other Western countries, and that they favor illegal drug trafficking, money laundering and fraud.... Clinton appeasement Despite its stated policy of not negotiating with terrorists, the Clinton administration went out of its way to appease a few of the 20th century's most notorious terror groups: the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), the PLO and the Irish Republican Army. All are heavily involved in the drug trade. On the eve of the 1993 handshake on the White House lawn between Israeli Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin and PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat, Britain's National Criminal Intelligence Service estimated the PLO's ill-gotten gains to total between $8 billion to $10 billion, with an annual income of about $1.5 billion to $2 billion from "donations, extortion, payoffs, illegal arms dealing, drug trafficking, money laundering, fraud, etc." Since then, Washington has only aided and abetted the PLO. Since the start of the Oslo process, Arafat has received at least $3 billion more from the United States and the international community, without any serious demand for accountability, according to a report this year to Congress. Arafat, in well-documented instances, has been systematically skimming off portions of these funds, as he has with monies given to him on behalf of the refugees in the camps. The PLO was in the drug trafficking business almost from the beginning. Operating from Lebanon, under Habash's able leadership and assisted by a PLO-owned shipping company SUMUD, the organization exported hashish, opium, heroin and cocaine, first to Europe and later even to the United States and Australia. In return, it obtained weapons for their war against Israel and the West, and amassed a massive treasure trove. In addition, the PLO and Arafat, who enjoy the financial and strategic support of Hussein and bin Laden, have the distinction of being the organization that promoted "suicide bombers" as a weapon. Yet the Clinton administration subsidized a multitude of radical Palestinian groups, ranging from Arafat's Fatah branch of the PLO and its military wing, the Tanzim, to the socialist-nationalist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), headed by George Habash, all with close ties to bin Laden, Iraq and Iran. ...It was the Clinton White House that, despite evidence to the contrary, removed Syria from its list of the drug trafficking countries, to entice Syria to join the "peace process" in the Middle East. The failure of that process and the compromises the United States has made to maintain an illusion of peaceful prospects had no doubt added to the Muslim radical terrorists' resolve to attack what they see as a naive and vulnerable America. In another example of self-delusion, in 1999, then Secretary of State Madeleine Albright suggested a U.S.-led coalition to negotiate with the FARC and supported Colombia President Pastrana's "land for peace" initiative, despite a report from the General Accounting Office that the FARC is running a major international criminal enterprise that, among other things, supplies hundreds of tons of cocaine and heroin to the U.S. black market. This second Clinton "land for peace" initiative gave half of Colombia to the narco-terrorist FARC, while doing nothing to diminish its violence or appetite to control the rest of the country...." (OEOB, Treasury, and Blair House.) Beyond these buildings there are still more buildings, that also are taller than the White House. Moreover, the buildings in Roslyn, just across the river from and to the west of the Mall, would have to be cleared, which means the plane's altitude would probably be too high, or the angle of descent too steep to permit a successful attack by anyone other than a skilled, experienced pilot." Baghdad would now be eligible for American government loan guarantees." source: SPIDER'S WEB: THE SECRET HISTORY OF HOW THE WHITE HOUSE ILLEGALLY ARMED IRAQ by Alan Friedman ASIN: 0553096508 Imagine Saddam's rage and fury when Kuwait was liberated on February 26th, 1991, 9 years to the day after the event described above! Is it any wonder that Saddam would launch the first of his 2 attacks on the World Trade Center on February 26th, 1993, the 2nd anniversary of the liberation of Kuwait City, and the 11th anniversary of the event described above, and that he would launch his 2nd attack on the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001, the 11th anniversary of the Bush I speech to Congress on Iraq. Saddam loves 11th anniversaries, for instance " Saddam Hussein's speech on the 11th Anniversary of the Great Victory Day In the Name of God, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful Great People, The Valiant of Our Brave Armed Forces, Sons of our Glorious Arab Nation…" http://www.index.com.jo/iraqtoday/auguste.html Saddam took credit for the September 11th attacks on America on Baghdad Republic of Iraq Television. Saddam sent his henchman Osama bin Laden to attack America and to assassinate former President Bush, who was at the White House on the morning of September 11th, 2001,just as he had tried to assassinate former President Bush in Kuwait in 1993. That is why Flight 93 was selected to hit the White House on the morning of September 11th, 2001. Fortunately the heroes of Flight 93 stopped that from happening and the plane went down in Pennsylvania. Second Attempt to Assassinate President Bush. We all know that Saddam Hussein attempted to assassinate former President Bush in Kuwait in 1993. Laura Bush, wife of the current President Bush, along with the current President Bush's brothers, his parents, and former Secretary of State Baker were actually in the air enroute to Kuwait when the intelligence came in and their plane was turned back. Then President Clinton later bombed an empty Iraqi intelligence building in retaliation for that attempt in which Saddam's homicide bombers were caught in Kuwait. We believe that the Second Attempt to assassinate former President George Herbert Walker Bush was made by Saddam Hussein using his henchman Osama bin Laden on September 11th, 2001. It is a black day in the history of America, which is tasting the bitter defeat of its crimes and disregard for peoples' will to lead a free, decent life. The massive explosions in the centers of power in America, notably the Pentagon, is a painful slap in the face of US politicians to stop their illegitimate hegemony and attempts to impose custodianship on peoples. It was no coincidence that the World Trade Center was destroyed in suicidal operations involving two planes that have broken through all US security barriers to carry the operation of the century and to express rejection of the reckless US policy. Panic has spread among US official circles, which evacuated the White House following a series of explosions. They also evacuated the Pentagon, the State Department, and Congress and closed down the airports and government institutions. The collapse of US centers of power is a collapse of the US policy, which deviates from human values and stands by world Zionism at all international forums to continue to slaughter the Palestinian Arab people and implement US plans to dominate the world under the cover of what is called the new [world] order. These are the fruits of the new US order. "Moussaoui Says He Was to Hijack 5th Plane By MATTHEW BARAKAT, Associated Press Writer (Monday March 27, 2006) Al-Qaida conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui testified Monday that he and would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid were supposed to hijack a fifth airplane on Sept. 11, 2001, and fly it into the White House. Moussaoui's testimony on his own behalf stunned the courtroom. His account was in stark contrast to his previous statements in which he said the White House attack was to come later if the United States refused to release a radical Egyptian sheik imprisoned on earlier terrorist convictions. On Dec. 22, 2001, Reid was subdued by passengers when he attempted to detonate a bomb in his shoe aboard American Airlines Flight 63 from Paris to Miami. There were 197 people on board. The plane was diverted to Boston, where it landed safely. Moussaoui told the court he knew the World Trade Center attack was coming and that he lied to investigators when arrested in August 2001 because he wanted it to happen. "You lied because you wanted to conceal that you were a member of al- Qaida?" prosecutor Rob Spencer asked. "That's correct," Moussaoui said. Spencer: "You lied so the plan could go forward?" Moussaoui: "That's correct." The exchange was key to the government's case that the attacks might have been averted if Moussaoui had been more cooperative following his arrest. Moussaoui told the court he knew the attacks were coming some time after August 2001 and bought a radio so he could hear them unfold. Specifically, he said he knew the World Trade Center was going to be attacked, but asserted he was not part of that plot and didn't know the details. Nineteen men pulled off the Sept. 11 attacks on New York in Washington in the worst act of terrorism ever on U.S. soil. "I had knowledge that the Twin Towers would be hit," Moussaoui said. "I didn't know the details of this." Asked by his lawyer why he signed his guilty plea in April as "the 20th hijacker," Moussaoui replied: "Because everybody used to refer to me as the 20th hijacker and it was a bit of fun." Before Moussaoui took the stand, his lawyers made a last attempt to stop him from testifying, but failed. Defense attorney Gerald Zerkin argued that his client would not be a competent witness because he has contempt for the court, only recognizes Islamic law and therefore "the affirmation he undertakes would be meaningless." Moussaoui at first denied he was to have been a fifth hijack pilot Sept. 11 but under cross examination spoke of the plan that would have him attack the White House. He said Reid was the only person he knew for sure would have been on that mission, but others were discussed. The 19 terrorists on Sept. 11 hijacked and crashed four airliners, killing nearly 3,000 people in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and on the planes. The intended target of the plane that crashed into a Pennsylvania field remains unknown. Moussaoui said he talked with an al-Qaida official in 1999 about why a 1993 bombing at the World Trade Center failed to bring the towers down. He said "was asked in the same period for the first time if I want to be a suicide pilot and I declined." Just before Moussaoui took the stand, the court heard testimony that two months before the attacks that a CIA deputy chief waited in vain for permission to tell the FBI about a "very high interest" al-Qaida operative who became one of the hijackers. The official, a senior figure in the CIA's Osama bin Laden unit, said he sought authorization on July 13, 2001, to send information to the FBI but got no response for 10 days, then asked again. As it turned out, the information on Khalid al-Mihdhar did not reach the FBI until late August. At the time, CIA officers needed permission from a special unit before passing certain intelligence on to the FBI. The official was identified only as John. His written testimony was read into the record. "John's" testimony was part of the defense's case that federal authorities missed multiple opportunities to catch hijackers and perhaps thwart the 9/11 plot. His testimony included an e-mail sent by FBI supervisor Michael Maltbie discussing Moussaoui but playing down his terrorist connections. Maltbie's e-mail said "there's no indication that (Moussaoui) had plans for any nefarious activity." He sent that e-mail to the CIA even after receiving a lengthy memo from the FBI agent who arrested Moussaoui and suspected him of being a terrorist with plans to hijack aircraft. Prosecutors argue that Moussaoui, a French citizen, thwarted a prime opportunity to track down the 9/11 hijackers and possibly unravel the plot when he was arrested in August 2001 on immigration violations and lied to the FBI about his al-Qaida membership and plans to hijack a plane. Had Moussaoui confessed, the FBI could have pursued leads that would have led them to most of the hijackers, government witnesses have testified. To win the death penalty, prosecutors must first prove that Moussaoui's actions — specifically, his lies — were directly responsible for at least one death on Sept. 11. If they fail, Moussaoui would get life in prison. ___ Associated Press Writer Michael J. Please help me with my story!? Diana, Jackie, Aileen, and Salina, and I, together we are the fantastic five, saving the world from evil by having a strong friendship. Haha JK about saving the world, but we are the fantastic five and we do have a strong friendship. Our “clique”, “groupie”, “club”, “circle”, or whatever you want to identify us, includes: Jackie, Salina, Aileen, Diana, and me. Each of us has different looks, backgrounds, personalities, qualities, talents, and lots of other stuff that makes us what we are, well, best friends. Diana the artist, Aileen the overachiever, Jackie the athlete, Salina the singer, and I the social one, we are all different in many ways but that is why we get along so well. Jackie, Aileen, Salina, Diana, and I were sitting in the front row of seats in our 4th period Language Arts class, in that exact order and stood up to go to the commons. “Oh my god!” Jackie screamed at the top of her lungs. “Do you know what this means?” “Oh my god! We are gonna get our little certificate thingies for like, best dressed and stuff!” I yelled also screaming at the top of my lungs. Then, Jackie, Diana, and I began waving their hands in the air and screaming like the little girly girls we are. “It’s Aileen, Aileen Isakharov you retard!” Aileen, Salina, Jackie, Diana and I shrieked and right after that, we dropped down under the chairs so we wouldn’t get caught, a perfect way to end the school year. A loud applause followed by screams, mostly from Salina, Jackie, Diana, and me, Aileen walks up to the microphone and says “Go Chickens. “Last but not least, I would like to award ############ for most charming personality!” The crowd screams, whistles, and claps as I strut down the main walkway to the stage to claim my award. I walk up to Mr. Chicka, take the certificate, and then walk to the microphone and say, “Thanks everybody! I am so honored, I love you all!” Then the crowd goes wild again, I am such a crowd pleaser! Oh yeah baby! There were five tickets, one for each of us, and we would be staying at my grandma’s friend’s home who just happens to live next door to Salma Heyek. This trip, though we may not know it, is going to change our lives and have many twists and turns that will carry all of us on a journey together. I ordered a light caramel frappicino with triple shots and whipped cream, Salina ordered a mocha cappuccino, Jackie, a pumpkin spice frappicino, Diana a black coffee, and Aileen, a hot chocolate. After all our orders were completed, it was 3:40 AM! SHIT! That means that we have five minutes to run across the airport with drinks in one hand, luggage in the other, and whatever else Salina, Jackie, Diana, Aileen, and I might be carrying along. Diana doodled on every possible little space in her notebook, both Jackie and Salina were listening and singing along to their IPODs, I was taking millions of pictures of myself with her new hot pink Polaroid digital camera, and Aileen was playing with her brand new Nintendo DS. Finally, three hours later, three ELONGATED hours later, we landed at the LAX Airport in Los Angeles, CA. Next, we were supposed to go on Flight 9286 to Mexico City, Mexico at 9:50 AM at terminal B3, according to me, and meet my grandma’s friend named Claire. For now on, let’s just call her Claire and not have to elucidate the whole “my grandma’s friend” thingy all the time. Anyways, it was about 7:15 AM and Salina’s and my stomachs were growling, what’s new? “Oh my god, we have to get in there!” I whispered as I began to huddle the five of us into a tight circle. Does each of you know your position?” Salina, Jackie, Aileen, and Diana all seemed confused by what I had just explained and kind of just stood there shocked for a few moments and a minute later, they shot their hands in the middle of the huddle and yelled “BREAK!” The diabolical plan has begun.

Why doen't the US begin using coal to produce oil? South Africa has been doing do for years!? SECUNDA, South Africa -- Every day, conveyor belts haul about 120,000 metric tons of coal into an industrial complex here two hours east of Johannesburg. The facility -- resembling a nuclear power plant, with concrete silos looming over nearby potato farms -- superheats the coal to more than 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. It adds steam and oxygen, cranks up the pressure, and pushes the coal through a series of chemical reactions. Then it spits out something extraordinary: 160,000 barrels of oil a day. For decades, scientists have known how to convert coal into a liquid that can be refined into gasoline or diesel fuel. But everyone thought the process was too expensive to be practical. The lone exception was South Africa, a one-time pariah state that had huge reserves of coal and, thanks to anti-apartheid sanctions, limited access to foreign oil. Sasol Ltd., a partly state-owned company, built several coal-to-liquids plants, including the ones at Secunda, and became the world's leading purveyor of coal-to-liquids technology. Now, oil prices are above $70 a barrel, and Sasol has emerged as the key player at the center of the world's latest alternative-energy boom. China is building a coal-to-oil plant costing several billion dollars in Inner Mongolia and may add as many as 27 facilities -- including some with Sasol's help -- over the next several years, according to a recent tally by Credit Suisse. In the U.S., the Defense Department is studying coal-to-oil technology as a way to reduce the American military's dependence on Middle Eastern crude oil. And the National Coal Council, an industry association, is pushing for government incentives to help generate some 2.6 million barrels of liquid fuel a day from coal by 2025. That would satisfy some 10 percent of America's expected oil demand that year. The plan would require 475 million tons of coal a year, which represents more than 40 percent of current annual U.S. production. Industry officials believe America's coal reserves are big enough to allow for the extra production. Coal-to-liquids "is not going to replace oil," says Lean Strauss, a Sasol executive who directs the company's overseas energy business. "But it's an important substitute. It is one of the solutions to energy security." In June, two senators from coal-producing states, Barack Obama of Illinois and Jim Bunning of Kentucky, introduced a bill to offer loan guarantees and tax incentives for U.S. coal-to-liquid plants. Sasol has found a particularly receptive audience in Montana's Democratic governor, Brian Schweitzer, who says he carries a lump of coal and a vial of liquefied coal with him at all times. He is lobbying coal companies and others to build coal-to-liquid plants across his state, which has some of the biggest coal reserves in the U.S. Current estimates indicate the world has just 41 years of known oil reserves and 65 years of natural-gas supplies. It has enough coal reserves to last an estimated 155 years, with some of the largest reserves in the two biggest oil-consuming countries, the U.S. and China. It's far from clear, however, that the world would be better off -- economically or environmentally -- by burning more coal to fuel cars and trucks. One problem is that coal-to-oil projects are extremely expensive. A single plant capable of producing about 80,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day -- less than 0.5 percent of America's daily oil diet -- would cost an estimated $6 billion or more to build. Energy analysts reckon that some coal-to-liquids projects can offer an acceptable return on investment when oil is priced as low as $30 or $35 a barrel, though such ventures might require government tax incentives to reduce operating costs. It seems likely that oil prices will stay above that level for a while, but the longer-term outlook is anyone's guess. An earlier flurry of interest in coal-to-oil facilities in the U.S. during the Carter administration in the late 1970s died after oil prices collapsed. Coal-to-oil projects also pose serious environmental questions. When the South African facility superheats coal and turns it into a gas, one of the main waste products is carbon dioxide, thought to be a significant cause of global warming. The Natural Resources Defense Council, a U.S.-based environmental advocacy group, estimates that the production and use of gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel and other fuels from crude oil release about 27.5 pounds of carbon dioxide per gallon. The production and use of a gallon of liquid fuel originating in coal emit about 49.5 pounds of carbon dioxide, they estimate. Even some boosters of the coal-to-oil plants describe them as carbon-dioxide factories that produce energy on the side. "Before deciding whether to invest scores -- perhaps hundreds -- of billions of dollars in a new industry like coal-to-liquids, we need a much more serious assessment of whether this is an industry that should proceed at all," said David Hawkins, director of the Climate Center at the Natural Resources Defense Council, at a recent U.S. Senate hearing. Coal-to-oil is one of several promising but potentially polluting technologies that are receiving new attention amid high oil prices. Energy companies are trying to unlock natural gas trapped in shale and other difficult rock formations. They're also tapping oil-soaked sands in Canada and so-called heavy oils in politically challenging places such as Venezuela. Environmentalists fear these new sources will outshine conservation as the way to address the world's growing thirst for energy. In South Africa, environmental groups say Sasol's facilities have emitted huge volumes of carbon dioxide and pollutants, including sulfur dioxide. They say these have caused a host of respiratory problems in nearby communities. Sasol says its emissions of these pollutants are small compared to emissions by other companies' coal-burning electricity plants in the region. Sasol officials acknowledge their facilities emit greenhouse gases and that building more coal-to-liquids facilities around the world "could have potentially significant implications, in the long run, for our commitment to reducing carbon intensity," according to a recent company report on its social and environmental programs. Sasol says it plans to reduce its greenhouse-gas emissions per ton of product by 10 percent by 2015. Sasol and many other coal-to-oil proponents say that future coal-to-liquids plants can be built with newer technologies that trap carbon dioxide and store it, sharply reducing their emissions. To many South Africans, Sasol is a huge success story. The company's daily production now meets about 30 percent of South Africa's transport-fuel needs. The country's 50-rand bank note even features a picture of one of Sasol's plants. Sasol's share price has more than tripled over the past three years. Analysts estimate it earned about $2 billion in the year ended June 30, about 35 percent higher than the year before -- such a sharp rise that South African authorities are contemplating a "windfall tax" on the company. Coal-to-oil technology dates back to the 1920s, when two German chemists, Franz Fischer and Hans Tropsch, developed a process to convert coal into a gas and then use it to make synthetic fuels. Coal-to-oil technology helped fuel the Nazi war machine, which lacked access to sufficient crude oil. International oil companies also experimented with the process but put it aside because oil was cheaper. South Africa took a different view. The country lacked oil, but had enormous deposits of coal, much of which had limited market value because of its poor quality. In 1950, the government set up Sasol as a state-owned company and authorized funding for its first project, a coal-to-liquids facility called Sasolburg in the South African countryside. When oil prices soared in the 1970s, South African officials decided to up the ante. They lent Sasol $6 billion to build two new facilities at Secunda -- each 10 times as large as Sasolburg. The government also privatized the company, listing it on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 1979. (The government maintains a 23.5 percent stake). By the time the facilities were completed in the early 1980s, international oil prices were collapsing. The project was nonetheless a success for the white-dominated apartheid government because international sanctions were restricting South Africa's ability to buy foreign oil. The plants managed to stay profitable by continually boosting efficiency and expanding their end products to include plastics, fertilizers and explosives. Besides the government loans, Sasol at various times received cash payments from the government when oil prices fell below a certain level. It eventually paid back the loans and stopped receiving subsidies for its coal-to-oil business by 2000. Today, Secunda is a buzzing industrial hub with 16,000 employees, miles of interlocking pipes and cables, and eight colossal silos. The silos, each big enough to contain a football field, cool steam involved in the conversion process. Fuel trucks wait along the edge of the facility to fill up with gasoline. Nearby mines produce more than 40 million metric tons of coal a year -- as much as all of Illinois. Outside the plant gates, Secunda has a boomtown feel. It has some 35,000 people, a BMW dealership and a multistory casino hotel called Graceland designed to evoke the "grand old age of Colonial America." A growing focus for Sasol is marketing its technology overseas. The company first tried to do so in the 1990s, after apartheid ended, but executives found doors slammed in their faces. Oil was trading for less than $25 a barrel at the time. "We sat in corridors waiting for meetings that never happened because they didn't even know who Sasol was," recalls Pat Davies, Sasol's chief executive. Sasol made its first inroads in countries such as Qatar that have big stockpiles of hard-to-transport natural gas. These countries were interested in Sasol's technology for turning natural gas into liquid fuel. As oil prices began to perk up, Sasol drew interest on the coal front from China, with its big coal reserves and energy needs. In marketing materials produced for Chinese government officials and investors, Sasol offers a simple message: By 2015, 70 percent of China's oil imports will come from the Middle East. Yet the country has coal reserves equivalent to more than half the oil in the Middle East. By 2004, Chinese energy planners began meeting with Sasol executives in Beijing to discuss the coal-to-oil process. That was followed by a series of meetings with policy makers and Chinese companies, capped by a gathering in Cape Town in June attended by visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. Coal-generated pollution is emerging as a major environmental crisis in China. Yet Chinese officials are apparently willing to accept more coal use if it means improving the country's energy security, especially if local companies can design facilities to use relatively clean-burning varieties of coal. Shenhua Group, China's largest coal producer, has started work on China's first commercial coal-to-oil facility, designed eventually to produce as many as 200,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day. Although that plant uses a different process from Sasol's at Secunda, Shenhua officials are in negotiations with Sasol to jointly build at least one additional 80,000-barrel-a-day plant using the South African company's technique. While Sasol would charge a fee for licensing its technology, its main interest is to share ownership in the facilities once they're built because it wants a share of the long-term profits. In China, Sasol is asking for a 50 percent equity stake in the projects. A Shenhua official says negotiations are going smoothly and the company hopes to begin construction soon. In Montana, at least two companies, including the world's largest private-sector coal company, Peabody Energy Corp. of St. Louis, have said they are looking at potential coal-to-oil sites. Montana's Gov. Schweitzer says any excess carbon dioxide from a facility could be given to oil companies to be injected back into the ground to enhance recovery from old wells. Bringing Sasol on board is critical, says Gov. Schweitzer. He says Wall Street banks want the South Africans to play a role because Sasol is the only company with a track record in the business. To woo Sasol executives, he says, he took them on a flight over Montana coal country last year. "These are the guys everyone wants to take to the prom," Gov. Schweitzer says. Sasol officials say they're interested in Montana and other potential sites in the U.S., provided they can find a suitable partner and receive tax or other incentives. Coal-to-oil "is coming to the United States," Gov. Schweitzer proclaims. When it does, he says, other countries "will be scrambling to protect their oil supplies -- and we'll be energy independent." Coal to Oil technology is a proven fact, used be Germany in WWII and more recently by South Africa during there period of Aparthide. This country needs long term options and this seems like a viable option. -5dollar galon gas may make people demand for solutions at a louder scream

When it does, he says, other countries "will be scrambling to protect their oil supplies -- and we'll be energy independent." With all these great things. What was so bad about the Nazi's? Statements on the Internet on what the Nazis invented/ contributed to the modern world Volkswagen KdF computer, invented by Konrad Zuse 1941. Jet plane in 1939 by Heinkel Flugzeugwerke. The first manned rocket flight in 1945 (unfortunately it lasted only some seconds and pilot Lothar Sieber died) Nazi doctors, in line with their campaign for public health were the first to write a major scientific paper linking smoking with lung cancer, I believe smoking was even banned, for a brief time in the Luftwaffee. Nazis invented Nerve gasses Sarin and Tabun. Invented first effective automatic rifle, single person anti-tank weapons (precursors to RPGs). You can see some magnificant architecture by Speer that was planned in nearly any documentary on the man. Autobahns Stealth technolgy was invented by the Horten brothers during the Reich. Audio technology using magnetic tape was a Third Reich invention. Copying German tape recorders was how the famous American corporation Ampex got its start. Magnetic tape was also essential later for the video tape recorder. Allies hadn't a clue how the Axis was transmitting speeches and programs hours apart to different locations and having them sound "live." It was top of the list of technologies to capture as the war concluded. Management systems for keeping massive and complex development programs on track was another "invention" transferred to the US, along with its scientists and project managers. These systems allowed the Germans to have developments underway in numerous categories and perform them remarkably well. The Wankel engine, which is now referred to as the "rotary engine" was invented during the Third Reich. Mazda uses this engine extensively. Someone mentioned the Autobahnen as really an idea thought up during the Weimar Republic. Yes, but that brings to light another achievement, and that is simply the will and energy to put unemployed workers to work doing things that needed to be done, something the Weimar government was totally inept at doing. "Parliamentary chaos" combined with acquiescence to WWI reparations were the problems. Missile technology: Ground-to-ground, air-to-air, air-to-ground, ground-to-air, ship-to-ship, etc., using wire guidance, TV guidance, IR guidance (everything but laser quidance). Most of these missiles were not at the highest form of development, but their work launched and made a bundle of money later on for corporations like Boeing, Raytheon, Hughes Aircraft, North American Aviation (Rocketdyne Div.), etc. All of these companies had their German "Chief Scientist" heading up research and development operations. The promising IR technologies were mostly all developed during the Third Reich. They had "night vision" devices while the Allies were still wondering if such things were possible. Modern sewer treatment facilities are all derived from Third Reich technology. You've probably seen them with their settling ponds and huge skimmers. While the Englishman, Farnsworth, gets credit for the invention of a very rudimentary television, it was the Third Reich that perfected television and conducted the first broadcasting. Application of geophones for seismic wave detection was used for locating artillary. The "wishbone cannon" was invented and installed at Calais, France. It was destroyed before it was operable. The "rail gun" was another significant invention, which the US and SU copied. This weapon employes a series of ring magnets to propell a rail mounted projectile. The significant feature of this "gun" is that it can accelerate the projectile at a speed nearing infinity -- at least in theory. Conventional explosives are limited by their individual, finite rates of expansion and hence constrained in how fast they can make a projectile move. The intial "invention" of the Third Reich that made everything possible was the breaking away from the international banking system, which made its money on debt finance; i.e., usury. This act was probably the most important event which caused WWII to later occur. In the Thirties the German economy was booming and all sorts of new humane benefits were granted to workers. Elsewhere, deep economic depression was underway, and Roosevelt, for instance, really couldn't get things to moving until we went into a war economy mode. 20 questions about 911, need answers.? 1. In the first months of 2001, three years after Bin Laden's 1998 fatwa against the US, Mullah Omar wanted to "resolve or dissolve" the Osama-Taliban nexus in exchange for Washington maneuvering to lift United Nations sanctions. Would anyone from the first George W Bush administration confirm a solid Taliban offer? Kabir Mohabbat, a Houston-based, Paktia (Afghanistan)-born businessman also involved in the (failed) 1990s negotiation for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan pipeline, and then named by Bush's National Security Council as a key Taliban contact, has sustained that was the case. 2. Eight names on the "original" Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) list of 19 Muslim hijackers happened to be found alive and living in different countries; the FBI has always sustained that the identity of the hijackers was established from DNA collected at all four sites - the World Trade Center (WTC), the Pentagon and the Shanksville, Pennsylvania, crash site. Would the FBI explain how is that remotely possible? 3. All four planes referenced in the official narrative have thousands of parts with a serial number, plus tail numbers. Any one of these would have been enough to identify the plane(s). How come all of these parts disintegrated or vaporized? Why was not a single one of them recovered and/or matched up with all the mass of data about these four flights? 4. How come cell phones miraculously find a signal and work properly at 10,000 meters? 5. How to explain the enormous surge in "option puts" on both United Airlines and American Airlines on September 10? 6. How come the passport of alleged hijacker Satam al Suqami (and not Mohammed Atta, as reported) was miraculously found amid massive World Trade Center debris - either by "police and FBI" or by "a passerby who gave it to the NYPD", according to different versions? 7.Why was a military grade of thermite - a super-explosive - found at all sample sites surrounding Ground Zero? A peer-reviewed, scientific journal analysis is here. http://www.bentham-open.org/pages/content.php?TOCPJ/2009/00000002/00000001/7TOCPJ.SGM 8. How come Barry Jennings, who worked for New York City's Housing Department, reported on 9/11 to ABC News how he heard an explosion on the 8th floor of WTC 7? Jennings happened to die just a few days before the release of the NIST report on the WTC 7 collapse. A great number of actual 9/11 witnesses also heard and saw explosions going off inside the Twin Towers long before their collapse. A montage of news reports about these explosions can be seen here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n-nT-luFIw 9. Why did the BBC confirm live on air the collapse of the WTC 7 building - which was not even hit by any plane - no less than 23 minutes before it actually collapsed? In the BBC live report, the WTC7 building is shot still standing. 10. Why there has been no investigation of Dov Zakheim? He was a prominent member of the Project for the New American Century group, and chief executive officer of SPC - a company making systems for remote control of airplanes - for four years prior to 9/11. Six months before 9/11, he became supervisor of a group of Pentagon comptrollers responsible for tracking no less than $2.3 trillion missing from the Pentagon books; many of these comptrollers died on 9/11. 11. The "five dancing Israelis" question. How come Oded Ellner, Omer Marmari, Paul Kurzberg, Sivan Kurzberg and Yaron Shmuel had set up a video camera on top of their white van pointing at the Twin Towers even before they were hit? Later they were seen celebrating. The FBI established that two were Mossad agents and that their employer, Urban Moving Systems, was a front operation. The investigation about them was killed by the White House. After being deported from the US, they admitted on Israeli TV that they had been sent to New York to "document" the attacks. How about other reports of vans packed with tons of explosives intercepted on New York bridges? 12. How come two US employees of Odigo, an Israeli instant messaging company based in Herzliya, the headquarters of Mossad, received an SMS about an attack on the WTC two hours before the fact? 13. How come there was no investigation of ICTS International, owned by Ezra Harel and Menachem Atzmon, and crammed with former Israeli Shin Bet agents? This was the company responsible for airport security at Dulles, Logan and Newark airports on 9/11. 14. Why was there no full investigation of the circumstances related to how Larry Silverstein leased the WTC only seven weeks before 9/11 - as facilitated by New York Port Authority chairman Lewis Eisenberg? Silverstein over-insured the WTC against terrorism and made an astonishing profit. 15. Why were anthrax packages mailed to the only two US senators who voted against the Patriot Act? 16. Why did situation room director Deborah Loewer follow Bush to Florida on 9/11 - considering that's not part of her job description? 17. Where are th
A new kind of politics? http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-0704060020apr06,1,1855420.story?coll=chi-news-hed&?track=sto-topstory MEXICANS IN CHICAGO: A NEW KIND OF POLITICS Influence on both sides of the border Activists' political power is rising in Chicago and their homeland, as they seek reforms through marches and money Advertisement By Antonio Olivo and Oscar Avila Tribune staff reporters April 6, 2007 To outsiders, the men and women gathered inside a sleepy West Side restaurant may have seemed unlikely power brokers: a janitor, a real estate agent and others hardly known outside their circuit of neighborhood dances and back-yard barbecues. Jose Luis Gutierrez, who plotted strategy with the group as a soccer match flickered on a nearby TV, was himself a wholesale grocer until last year. But Gutierrez is now a top aide to Gov. Rod Blagojevich, and he was joined at the table by leaders of Chicago-area Mexican immigrant clubs, the engines behind a new political movement that is making itself felt from Illinois to Michoacan. Gutierrez received smiling nods when he likened the political muscle of the region's 563,000 Mexican immigrants to the power of Irish-Americans in the 19th and 20th Centuries, who came to control the Chicago machine. In May, the strength of Mexicans will be on display when many of the region's 300 immigrant clubs -- known as "hometown associations" -- will help organize a march in downtown Chicago a year after their political coming-out party, demonstrations that flooded the Loop last spring and charged the national immigration debate. For decades Mexican hometown associations have functioned as social networks whose members pooled their money earned here to help build new schools or churches back in Mexico. But leaders in Chicago's largest immigrant group have a more ambitious worldview than their predecessors, even more than the ethnic blocs that preceded them decades ago. Some, like Gutierrez, wield growing influence in both countries. One morning, he's unveiling a blueprint for more immigrant services in Illinois as director of the state's Office of New Americans Policy and Advocacy. The next night, he's brainstorming with activists in his home state of Michoacan about a slate of candidates for Mexico's congress. An active role in Mexican politics might seem at odds with building political influence here. But Gutierrez and others say they form a budding new political consciousness among Mexican immigrants -- a "third nation" of sorts that transcends the border, advancing the community's cause on both sides. "The nation-state concept is changing," said Gutierrez, 46, who came to Chicago in 1986 and led one of the Midwest's largest federations of hometown associations. "You don't have to say, `I am Mexican,' or, `I am American.' You can be a good Mexican citizen and a good American citizen and not have that be a conflict of interest. Sovereignty is flexible." That concept worries some U.S. officials and scholars who see the dual loyalty as undermining the assimilation of Mexican immigrants. Irish, German and Polish immigrants eventually melded into Chicago's landscape, their ties to their native soil largely sentimental. But Mexican immigrants today are linked to their homeland like no group before, scholars say, connected by NAFTA, satellite TV, the Internet, cell phones and cheap non-stop flights. In Mexico, their power stems from the nearly $25 billion these immigrants send home every year, the country's second-highest source of income behind oil. Their political influence surfaces in places like Teloloapan, far up in the cactus-filled hills of the state of Guerrero, where a Chicago restaurateur helped build new roads and business. Grateful townspeople elected him mayor in a landslide. In the U.S., immigrants' power is driven by numbers and a growing deftness at the levers of this country's political machinery. That recently manifested itself in a fledgling political action committee called Mexicans for Political Progress, which raised $23,000 for Blagojevich's re-election and rallied volunteers to walk precincts during November's election. An unfolding movement Fabian Morales, a soft-spoken Realtor with a well-clipped mustache, stands at the center of the unfolding movement. He handled logistics for three massive immigration marches in Chicago last year -- including a four-day walk to suburban Batavia -- and co-founded Mexicans for Political Progress. After coming to Chicago in 1970, Morales helped launch one of the city's then-few hometown clubs, devoted to his tiny native village of Xonacatla, Guerrero. Back then, Xonacatla was without roads, potable water or electricity. It was a slow journey from other towns by foot or horseback, Morales said. The club members in Chicago resolved to change that. Collecting $50 to $100 at a time, Morales and others raised enough through barbecues and door-to-door soliciting to replace a house used for worship services with a towering marble church that rises from the green hillside. Morales has since helped develop CONFEMEX, an umbrella organization for most of the hometown clubs in the Midwest. Among other things, the group is a central voice in economic development in Mexico, representing an estimated $340 million in projects generated by U.S.-based hometown associations in the last five years, according to Mexican federal officials. "We want to focus on creating more jobs there so they don't have to think about emigrating," Morales said. The rising activity of hometown associations caught the eye of the Mexican government, which eventually created a "3-for-1" matching project, where federal, state and local governments split the cost of a new bridge or computer center with the U.S.-based groups. Those projects have given Mexican immigrants "a great moral authority" in their homeland, as well as political cachet, said Carlos Gonzalez, executive director of the Institute for Mexicans in the Exterior, or IME, a Mexican federal government agency that fosters stronger ties with expatriates. "During the 1970s, [Mexicans] called the people who left Mexico and acclimated to the U.S. 'pocho,' which, if you look in the dictionary, means 'spoiled fruit,' " Gonzalez said. "The change we've seen in the public perception of Mexicans in the exterior has been 180 degrees." In 2006, citizens abroad were allowed to vote in Mexican presidential elections for the first time. Leaders are also pushing for changes that would allow expatriates to vote in local elections and even hold elective offices while residing abroad. Recently, Gutierrez and others persuaded Michoacan to become the first state in Mexico to extend voting rights to expatriates. Their rationale: Almost half of those born in Michoacan, Zacatecas and several other Mexican states now live in the U.S. Timoteo "Alex" Manjarrez, 44, is among a small but growing number of Mexican immigrants making a bolder claim in their motherland. Arriving from his native town of Teloloapan, Guerrero, in 1980, Manjarrez spent 19 years in Chicago. The stocky, boyish-looking immigrant worked for years as a dishwasher at the Columbia Yacht Club and, eventually, became owner of three Mexican restaurants in the city. Fulfilling a desire shared by many immigrants, Manjarrez moved back to his native town in 1999 with enough money for his family to live comfortably. But the place he had longed for all those years was still frustratingly poor, despite the investments Manjarrez's hometown club made in new roads and other improvements. Manjarrez, who holds both Mexican and U.S. citizenship, settled in and quickly built a new health club and a hacienda-style restaurant named La Condesa, after the three he still owns in Chicago. In 2004, he ran for mayor of Teloloapan. With long-distance backing from his hometown club friends in Chicago, who sent money and telephoned friends and local officials on his behalf, Manjarrez won handily. 'The city that works' Since taking office, the man who sees Mayor Richard M. Daley as a political role model has pushed to remake Teloloapan into a Mexican version of "the city that works." The effort includes newly paved streets, a recreation center that replaces a local swamp known as "black waters," and a towering hotel being built privately by Manjarrez's family. Next to a new medical clinic, a donated Chicago ambulance sits in the parking lot. Its emblem has been painted over, but it serves as a reminder of the continued links Manjarrez has to his former city, where he maintains a home near Midway Airport, votes in U.S. elections and checks in on his businesses. Aurelio Santamaria Bahena, mayor of a town near Manjarrez's called Tlapehuala, labeled such changes "a blessing" for an area of Mexico dominated by crumbling lean-to houses and children in bare feet pulling bone-thin donkeys. But, as with other parts of the country where the immigrant handprint is deepening, the introduction of U.S.-style governance has also bred resentment. Local leaders of Manjarrez's own Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) are trying to drum him out of office, arguing he is too brash and condescending. The mayor counters the fight is about his efforts to take away "a plate of corruption that they've been able to eat from for years." The conflict was an uncomfortable backdrop during a recent PRD strategy meeting at a restaurant in Chilpancingo, Guerrero's capital. Headlines that morning featured a march against Manjarrez, orchestrated by his opponents. "People see you as an outsider," a worried Santamaria cautioned Manjarrez. "People don't think you see things as they are here." Manjarrez, wearing a black "La Condesa" windbreaker, patted his friend on the back and smiled. He had a media plan, one that might have made Daley proud. "We'll publish photos of the streets of Teloloapan before and after I came into office," Manjarrez said. "And, we'll ask the people: `Which would you prefer?' " That same week, Mexican immigrants from the U.S. and Canada met in Mexico City, as members of an advisory council created by the Mexican government. With a brash American style, they soon escalated their advice to demands, the members' voices echoing through the meeting hall. Morales, the Chicago Realtor, and about 100 other council members pushed Mexico to lobby the U.S. harder on immigration reform. They chastised their hosts for not creating more jobs. Buttonholing federal legislators in hallways, they reminded elected officials how much their districts relied on money sent from the U.S. They want 'results now' Gregorio Luke, a blond member of the council from Los Angeles partial to designer suits, observed that this kind of behavior wouldn't exist in a purely Mexican forum, where deference toward authority guides nearly all dialogue. "These people come here speaking Spanish, but they're negotiating as Americans," said Luke, a museum director who once oversaw cultural affairs at the Los Angeles Mexican Consulate. "They want to see results now." The meeting of the advisory council also illustrated the provocative overlap of Mexican and American political action. In addition to all-day strategy sessions on how to improve Mexico, council members brainstormed over late-night drinks on next moves in the fight for U.S. immigration reform. Many members had used their existing e-mail network to coordinate simultaneous demonstrations in Chicago, Los Angeles and other cities. Though not active participants in the U.S. immigrant movement, Mexican officials urged their compatriots to keep on fighting. "Let there be no barriers or walls between Mexicans here on the inside and the outside," former Mexican President Vicente Fox told the group, referring to a 2006 U.S. law that allows for a 700-mile fence to be built at the border. The audience stood and cheered. The idea that the Mexican government might be helping its nationals shape U.S. politics has raised red flags, both in the halls of academia and in the more volatile world of talk radio and the Internet. Robert Leiken, director of the immigration and national security program at the right-leaning Nixon Center in Washington, argued that binational activism among Mexican immigrants is bad for both countries. In the U.S., the meetings in Spanish and the often-passionate interest in Mexico's future hinder assimilation, he said. In Mexico, the relationship to hometown associations fosters an unhealthy economic dependence on U.S. remittances. "If I went out to Pilsen and spent some time with people from a hometown association, I'd think these are really cool people," Leiken said. But, "Standing back and looking at this from a social policy standpoint, I see some real problems." James McCann, a Purdue University political science professor, found that immigrants interested in Mexican affairs were more likely to participate in U.S. politics. He helped interview about 1,100 Mexican immigrants and found that hometown clubs promoted activism. "The conventional wisdom is that any transnational engagement is going to suck the oxygen out of your civic life in the States," McCann said. "But it seems that if you open a new avenue of expression in Mexico, that new avenue might pay some other dividends in the U.S." Some of those dividends went directly to the Blagojevich campaign last fall, when the governor found himself being serenaded by a trumpet-playing mariachi band inside the Hacienda Tecalitlan restaurant on the Near Northwest Side. Near a trickling courtyard fountain, Morales praised the governor in Spanish at the kickoff dinner for the Mexicans for Political Progress PAC. While Morales once raised money for his hometown with $1 tamales, the price here was as much as $500 a plate. "Let us demonstrate our political power by voting in the election, by voting for our friends interested in the prosperity of Mexicans. Friends like Gov. Rod Blagojevich!" Morales told the crowd. Blagojevich, who speaks a hint of Spanish, took the microphone and shouted: "Viva Chivas!" a reference to a popular Mexican soccer team. When the laughter and applause subsided, he switched to English and added: "By organizing, you are empowering a community. Your voice will be heard." The mood is darker in northwest suburban Carpentersville, where a growing Mexican community has rallied in large numbers in the face of a local backlash against undocumented immigrants. Last fall, about 3,000 Mexican immigrants and their supporters turned up outside Carpentersville's City Hall in an unexpected show of opposition to a proposed ordinance that would penalize landlords who rent to illegal immigrants and employers who hire them. The crowd was so riled a vote on the ordinance was postponed and has yet to be taken. The quick response came largely due to the hometown association representing the village of La Purisima, Michoacan, local activists said. The club turned to its telephone list of 400 families, said Salvador Balleno, the group's president. The turnout was a victory, but it has not deterred Carpentersville trustees from other proposals that would allow local police to trigger deportation proceedings against illegal immigrants and make English the village's official language. And as Balleno has struggled to register voters and rally volunteers for this month's village elections, even sympathetic politicians have seemed hesitant to link themselves too closely with the hometown association. Balleno now fears the village's hard-liners have the upper hand, intimidating some of the immigrants who protested last fall. "The [club] members know that if these people stay [in office] it is going to affect their kids," Balleno said, sounding anxious that an opportunity was slipping through his fingers. Jose Artemio Arreola, a key organizer of next month's march in Chicago, has been actively monitoring the battle in Carpentersville. He sees the activity there as part of a plan to create a political empire for Mexican immigrants, one linking hometown associations in Chicago and other cities to labor unions and Mexico's congress. His strategy includes moving back to his native state of Michoacan to run for congress there, something Arreola never imagined doing when he left a town overrun by poverty and ruled by local drug kingpins. He got his start in Chicago working in a plastics factory. Frustrated by the union representation there, he ran for shop steward and won. Unable to speak English, he relied on his bilingual co-workers to help him negotiate union contracts. He has since become a school janitor in Oak Park. The position pays little, but it has allowed Arreola to climb the ranks of the Service Employees International Union, where he has become key in that union's national efforts to tap further into the country's exploding Mexican immigrant workforce. All the while, Arreola has used the sharp elbows and old-school union tactics acquired in Chicago to become a power broker in his hometown of Acuitzio del Canje. He started in 2004 when the local mayor refused to back projects proposed by his hometown association. Arreola, a burly backslapper partial to gold neck chains, recalled thinking: "I need to take them out." He recruited a teacher to run for mayor in the Mexican town. Arreola then brought back a town phone book and, with others in Chicago, called voters one by one, promising a stream of U.S. investment if his candidate won. The incumbent opted for traditional rallies and car tours through town with a bullhorn. More than two years later, sitting in a Pilsen restaurant, Arreola opened a laptop computer and showed off the fruits of what proved to be an easy victory. Pictures of a new retirement home popped onto the screen, one featuring a grinning Arreola at a groundbreaking ceremony. Another showed a new computer lab with 40 computers for local schoolchildren, an investment in the future of Acuitzio del Canje. The town's name comes from an 1865 decision to make it the site for a "canje," or exchange of prisoners between warring Mexican and French troops. Sitting deep in the dusty mountains of Michoacan, it was neutral ground back then, Arreola explained, territory that didn't fully belong to either country but, in some ways, belonged to both. ---------- aolivo@tribune.com oavila@tribune.com - - - IN THE WEB EDITION Jose Artemio Arreola is one of several Mexican hometown association leaders in Chicago with multiple connections in Mexico and the U.S. From helping organize last year's massive immigration marches to slating political candidates in his home state, he wields influence on both sides of the border. I know!
His jeans (ice wash Cheap Mondays, skinny fit) looked fly to him and those that mattered, but the pockets were a bitch to use.
