How do International Flight Times work? I want to fly from the USA to the UK for a week. I wanted to know if by the times on the ticket does it mean USA times? say the Departure time is : 9:40 am from USA and Arrival time is : 12:00 am that same day in the UK. Is that 12 am time UK time or USA time? Sorry if this confuses anybody. Pretty much I want to know if the arrival time across seas is in USA time still or changes to UK. And the other way around coming from UK is the Departure time UK time or still my time?

When is the best time to book an international flight? How far in advance should one book an international flight from the US to the UK for August 2008? How do the airlines allocate tickets? Do they release blocks of tickets at different prices at different times of the year? Are there peak times to avoid when tickets are more expensive...? Are there certain times at which ticket prices drop - assuming the travel dates will not be changing? Thx.
Buying a round-trip ticket on an international flight but not using the return ticket--tagged as suspicious? My brother is going to Rome for about six months for culinary school, leaving the U.S. the last week of September. I was checking flights for him, and it's going to cost about $1700 if he books his return flight for six months down the road, instead of, say, scheduling his return ticket a month later but not using it until springtime. I realize there are a lot of really sticky regulations with international flights, especially flying back into the U.S., and I got to wondering if my brother's ticket would be tagged as suspicious if he didn't use his return flight on this ticket but booked another round-trip ticket later. He won't be coming back to the States for six months, but we don't have the extra $600 we'd have to pay to schedule his return trip for April--the rate quoted for a late October return was just over $1100. What should my brother do to keep from being tagged as suspicious in booking his flight? Any links for first-time international travelers would be awesome.
What are Delta check-in times for domestic and international flights? I'm flying Tuesday from Dublin through JFK to Boston, and back two weeks later. How many hours before my Dublin-JFK flight does check-in open at and then close (considering it's an international flight), and then the same for my Boston-JFK flight on the way back (considering it's a domestic flight)? Thanks!

Is 1hr and 45 minutes enough time to connect to international flight? I have an itinery that will get me to San Francisco at 9:36am and then I have to catch a flight to Osaka, Japan at 11:23 (it departs at that timE). Both are united airlines but not at the same terminal. I have to go from Terminal 3 to Terminal I which is international terminal. Thanks.
Connecting flights and times from international arrival to Chicago ORD to LAX then on to Sydney? Hi all, I have a connecting flight issue, relating to customs and immigration and timing. I’m about to book an AA flight from London Heathrow to LAX, connecting via Chicago ORD. The flight from London lands in Chicago, and I have 2 ¼ hours before the Chicago to LAX flight leaves. This has to meet up with an international flight from LAX to Sydney, departing 3.5 hours after the Chicago to LA flight is due to arrive. Is this enough time between flights? As I understand it, the customs and immigration will occur in Chicago, so that’s probably where the holdup will be. Not sure what it’s like there, but if I had 2 ¼ hours to clear LA customs no way would I bother! Thanks in advance!
Any advices on how to deal with long hour international flight ? i'm going to US alone from Singapore, the travel time itself is around 18 hr + 6 hr layover at Narita and Salt lake city so its a 1 day flight. Switching Airlines for an international flight? I am traveling to Ireland (and back) and have to do a switch between 2 different airlines. International flight to Chicago and then to LA? Hello, I bought an international flight to Chicago and 1.5 hours after my arrival to Chicago's Airport (ORD) I have a flight to LAX. Are 90 minutes between flights are enough time? Assuming I'll have to pass immigration and customs in Chicago and make it to my flight to LAX and make it all in time. First air flight since 9/11; First international flight; First time to Asia? I'm traveling alone and planning a weeklong trip to Singapore then on to the Philippines for 21 days. My intial and final major flying time should be at around 20 hours or more. How many meals should I expect on this plane? Can I bring extra food and drink as carry-on? If so within what size and amount limits? I will also have to take at least one dose of my 21 medications during the course of the flight what is the best way for me to package (pills, insulin, hypos) this as carry on? Should I carry all my medications in carry on in case my luggage is misdirected? I'm a wider person than most (350 lbs) and at times require the use of a cane. What are my chances of obtaining an seat upgrade simply due to my size/health? If not, what would be a good seat selection for me to have space, accomodations to/for my fellow travelers and the ability to stretch my left leg? What are my major expectations in regards to processing through customs/security? I'm not planning anything illegal but would like to avoid being hassled how can I best accomplish this? In regards to standard luggage, trouble sometimes finds me because I look an easy mark though I don't start trouble and do my best to avoid it I believe being prepared is a good motto. I will not carry a firearm to these nations but am certified in the use of an ASP tactical baton (extending baton), mace/pepper spray, and edged weapons. Can I legally bring in and carry on my person any of these type weapons while in Singapore and the Philippines? If so...which? Thank you for your assistance and advice

How do I transfer to an international flight at Calgary Airport? I'm flying to Monterey, California just before Christmas. I'm flying from a regional airport in Alberta to Calgary International before transferring to an American company and then flying to either San Francisco or LAX before transferring one last time to go to Monterey. From my understanding, after you get off the flight from my starting city, I have to to collect my checked baggage from a special carousel and then go through security again? Because I'm going form domestic to international... I'm super confused!
How does international flight pricing work? I'm looking to fly from Canada to Egypt at the end of January 4 months from now. I'm looking around at prices and they seem to be around $1400CAD. BA is having a sale until tomorrow and the price is $1380 (wow, big savings). Anyhow, how does international flight pricing work? Am I for sure getting a good price booking 4 months ahead? Or is there a "sweet spot" in time closer to the departure when prices are lower? Or are they only going to get higher? Should I book now, or wait and shop?
Baggage Transfer times at Dulles International Airport? Hello, I have a flight scheduled to leave from Denver to Dulles arriving at 20:59, and then a flight (international) leaving from Dulles at 22:02, in short, only 1 hour between the flights. My travel agent says that is enough time to transfer between planes, including my baggage. I am skeptical. Does anyone know how long it takes to typically transfer bags at Dulles during those times (Saturday)?
Do I need to have a passport to book an international flight? I am a U.S. Citizen traveling to England and Spain in June 09. Do I need to posses a valid passport at the time I book my flight? When I first get off of the plane, where do I go? Is the first place Customs, or do I get my luggage first? At the Customs section, what exactly happens? Will my luggage be searched, wich questions the official migration will de asking me, do they speak french or english? Thanks a lot!
If I take a plane from Logan to Heathrow is that a domestic or international flight? And if I were George W. Bush and the FISA law said I couldn't take domestic flights without prior court approval, would the New York Times and the Boston Globe start calling my flight from Logan to Heathrow a domestic flight? So, by that explanation, a domestic phonecall or e-mail is between two places in the same country, while an international phone call or e-mail is between two people in different countries..... And that means that if the NSA is monitoring phone calls or e-mails between two people in different countries that is NOT DOMESTIC SPYING!!!!!!! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070706/ap_on_re_us/domestic_spying
Does international flight allow to bring chinchilla? I was wondering if international flights allow to bring chinchilla and what is their specific policies. Is there a way to track International Flights in Real time? My parents are flying from San Francisco to Beijing today. is 45 minutes lay over for an international flight enough? I am traveling from Los Angeles (LAX) to Montreal (YUL) I have a layover of 45 minutes in Cincinnati, OH (CVG). I am going to check in for the international flight from LAX. Do you think I will have time? I have never been to Cincinnati's airport
During an international flight layover am I allowed to leave the secure area to meet a friend ? I'm going from Boston to Dublin with 6 hour layover in Manchester, UK, arriving about 7:30 am midweek. Luggage will be booked straight thru to Dublin but I change airlines from AA to AerLingus at Manchester. I want to meet a UK friend at the Manchester airport before reboarding to Dublin. My question is, am I allowed by customs to leave the secure area and then return to board my flight to Dublin? If so, how much time should it take to clear customs both sides? I'm guessing that if I leave myself 2 hours leaving customs & 2 hours coming back thru Customs I will be ok. It would give me 2 hours with my UK friend since we won't be leaving the airport. Is this realistic??
What should I expect on my first international flight to Manchester,UK this summer? Now, I need to know about visas (myself and a 6y/o),passports,how should I dress for flight, possible restrictions. Oh yeah, this will be my first time meeting my internet LOVE. Any ideas on cute/sexy comfortable outfits. I am 40 something and my style is shabby chic! ok...sorry it would be US to UK. And the HAHA wasn't necessary!!! I am not stupid I am in LOVE. I hope you feel it some day.... Anyway the rest of the question if you could be so kind...... =)
You, your weekend vacation time, and international flights/traveling? Let's look on upcoming weekend. Some of us will have 48 work-free hours, eh? And some of us will have no need to wake up and run straight to the university/collage. It's a good chance to take a short outdoor trip, or to go on a drive to an adjacent city.. but hey, there exists just another possibility, to take a long-distance flight to another country. So the question is, do you like this kind of experience? Or, do you think that such a short trips are just a waste of time?
Do you have any advice for a first timer on an international flight? I am flying from the U.S. to France in a few weeks, and I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me. I've flown before, but only short flights, and all before 9/11. I'd appreciate anything you could tell me about what the flight will be like, what I should put in my carry-on, and how to pass the time. Thank you so much!
Questions regarding first time flight to Narita International Airport & meeting friends on another flight? Sorry if these questions seem a little dumb, it's my first time to NRT! It's me and my friends' first time coming to Japan, so we want to make sure we find each other! my questions are: 1.) I'll be flying to Narita Airport(delta) and i have friends coming on another flight 40 minutes later (Air Canada). Can i wait for my friends? Is it ok/safe to not pick up my luggage for 40 minutes? 2.) If i have to get my luggage first then where can i tell my friends to meet me? after luggage pick up? customs? 3.) As far as i know, there are two terminals at Narita airport. When is the earliest can i find out what terminal my flight is arriving at to tell my friends?
Which laws do apply for an international flight? I was wondering which laws apply in an airplane. For example: since the drinking age is lower in some countries compared to the US would be a minor (19) allowed to drink alcoholic beverages on a (nonstop?) flight to somewhere in Europe where the drinking age is like 16 or something. Or would he violate against the American laws because he hasn't reached Europe due that time yet?
what and where can i apply as a flight attendant? im 18y/o, a 3rd yr college student of b.s.Tourism in manila, 5'5 in height and fit. im already asking for any airlines(international flights) at this time so i can gather information when i graduate. i choose b.s.tourism because i think the course will lead me closer to be a flight attendant.
International Flight advice? I need to fly to Frankfurt, Germany this summer from either LAX or ONT, departing as early in June as possible (no earlier than the 8th) and returing approx. 2 months later in as late as August as possible (no later than August 31st). I searched through travel websites and the cheapest flights I could find were over $1200. I know the price of plane tickets are different depending on when you by them in relation to when the departure is. When would be the best time to buy tickets to fly during these dates for the cheapest possible price? I don't care about what airline its on or the flight duration time, only how cheap it is.
Does an international flight departure/check-in require extra time? Do I need to allow extra time for an international departure check-in at the airport, or is it basically the same process as a domestic flight until arrival in the foreign country? i.e. drop off luggage, go through standard security, proceed to gate and board. If I have a connecting flight en route to the international destination, do I need to do anything special in the connecting airport (where the international flight is leaving from), or can I just walk up to the gate and board? Basically, I'm going from DEN to DFW to LON. The connection in DFW is less than 60 minutes. That should be enough time assuming my arriving plane is on time, correct?
Is Business Class worth the extra expenditure on an international flight? I plan to travel to Europe on my frequent flier miles at some point and the cost to go business class is double that of coach. I have traveled coach to Europe before and while I wouldn't say it was great, it was tolerable, but mostly because once was w/ family and the other time w/ my best friend so the seat squishing didn't matter. Next to a stranger could be more awkward. Do you feel it's worth double the miles for the extra space and entertainment?
International return flight--connection time is only 1 hr 55 min in DFW...is this enough time? Our return flight from Jamaica stops in Dallas TX before taking us on to Austin, TX. When you come back into the US you have to go through immigration, then pick up your luggage, go through customs, and then check your luggage back in. My question is...will 1 hour 55 minutes be enough time for all of this? I've never been to the Dallas airport (DFW) but I assume it is pretty big. Has anyone been to the Dallas airport before? Thanks for your answers.
Taking a baby on a long-haul international flight - please share your experience and? how should I prepare? The trip is around 20 hours. Any tips about a reservation, seat selection, packing, baby entertainment, dipaer changings, food, immunization, special airline service for baby, etc? My baby will be 9 months old by the time she travels. I have the car seat that is approved by FAA. I bought the seat for her and travel alone with her. I'll go back to my hometown in Southeast Asia. Tracking international flights in real time? where can I track flights in real time? I tried many, but they dont do real time outside US airspace. I used one before, but I deleted my browser's history so I forgot it. Also, does Yahoo do it? If so, how?

Questions regarding a first time flight, to Narita International Airport.? I will be traveling to Japan for the first time soon, and I am not very familiar with airports to begin with, so I had a few questions. I will be traveling to Narita International Airport, Terminal 1. 1. When I first get off of the plane, where do I go? Is the first place Customs, or do I get my luggage first? 2. If someone is meeting me at the airport, will I be able to see the person as soon as I get off of the plane? Or will I have to go through Security/Customs first? 3. At the Customs section, what exactly happens? Will my luggage be searched? Well, thank you in advance!
How do I insure expensive items on an international plane flight? My check-in bags will contain $4,000 USD of business merchandise. The items must be insured. I know the airlines insure a minimum amount. But how do I cover the actual amount? I already have import / export documents & the papers for customs, so please dont waste time with this info in your response.
My Infant has a stomach flu and I have to take an international flight. Would you? Hi, My son who is 15 months old has caught the stomach bug....he threw up 2-3 time 2 days ago, and once yesterday. He also hasnt been eating much...he ate a bit of banana today and hasnt thrown up yet. He also has a temperature. What also bothers me is that on Monday I am sue to fly an international flight of total flying time of 16-17 hours and a layover of 4 hours in between. I feel its going to be so hard to take him all by myself...but these tickets are non refundable and I also would hate to cancel since my entire family is waiting on the other side of the journey, where I'll get lots of help and support if I brave the journey. Would you go? He had a loose stool yesterday and a bit today. any ideas? any suggestions how to make him comfortable on the flight if I do go?
