Cheap Flight International

How much should I expect to pay for a flight to Germany in August?

Air Canada says around $1782.48 CDN, I say that is too much. Do you think there is any way I can find cheaper tickets? Can I get a discount if I travel in a group? Calgary to Hamburg.

  1. You won't find cheaper numnut, dumnut, stupisnut, personnut. Just kidding i don't know.
  2. depends on where you are flying from and to. why do people never tell you this? They just say I want to go to Germany how much is it? well you did mention July so that is giving me a little bit to work with and the fact you quoted Air Canada and Canadian dollars one would assume you will be flying somewhere from the huge Country of Canada I will say Toronto as a French Canadian would have provided more details. but now where to send you in Germany? how bout Frankfort? round trip airfare in July YYZ-FRA which happens to be peak season will cost you around $1180.00 Candadian you may want to look again after spring break as Europe fares tends to go down after this time of year and they very well me be 1/2 this price.
  3. Thumbs up to the second answer! You need to add more details if you want realistic answers. I used ITA (link below) to search all outbounds from Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax (since you didn't say from where in Canada) in the month of August, and I guessed your stay (since you didn't say how long) at 12-13 nights. The cheapest, by far, is German airline LTU's nonstop flight from Toronto to Dusseldorf. This comes in at $728 USD ($860 CAD) roundtrip using Aug 16 outbound. More dates available around $770. These are more than $200 cheaper than the next-cheapest fares.
  4. That sounds expensive. I expect around $1,000-$1300 for June/July from USA to Germany. Around $900-$1,150 for August from USA to Germany. Group discounts will be cheaper, but you will probably need a group of 15-20 before getting a discount. Check other airlines other than Air Canada, like Lufthansa. Go to Expedia, look there and then go directly to the airline. Change your days of travel. Weekend vs Weekday etc. Also it is way to early to buy tickets yet. The airlines have no idea what the oil price will be and have to plan for the worse, wait until May. I looked up on American Airlines Toronto to Frankfurt August 7-15 at $1101.60 ~ 1,302.20 CAD. I tried Montreal and it was roughly the same price too ~$1150. Looking at this it is definitely too expensive, do an expedia search and Lufthansa.
