How long should i wait to buy airline tickets?

It's mid-september right now and I want to buy airline tickets for christmas. How long should I wait before I buy the tickets for the prices to go down?

1. My experience has been that prices do not go down at christmas for airline tickets. I would suggest buying them now, most likely the price will go up if you wait. A good website to compare airline prices is: www.everydaytravelconnections.com
2. Hahaha...they go up as the dates get closer. I always buy as early as possible, often over 6 months before.
3. I would buy them a few months before, because as the date gets closer the price of tickets go up.
4. I would buy when you can find a good deal because once it gets close to christmas prices always go up.Plus a lot depends were you are going to.
