Cheap Flight International

Is there a way to get our money back or sell the nonrefundable airline tickets?

We bought the cheapest airline tickets that we could get few months ago for our December trip then lately we are planning to cancel our trip. When we called our ticketing agent for a refund, we were told that it is nonrefundable but we can still use the ticket within 1 year period.

  1. Nope it is nonrefundable right?
  2. Nonrefundable means exactly that.
  3. The airlines had issued the cheapest ticket only on the condition that it is non - refundable. The air tickets are non transferable, so you are not able to sell the same to some other person. The only option left with you is rescheduling. But please be sure about the rescheduling charges if any.
  4. When you buy non refundable tickets, they are non refundable!!
  5. The best course of action you have now knowing that you are not able to get a refund, is to find out the charges for changing the flight dates, and re-plan your trip for 2010. The one year period will probably start from the date of your original out flight, so effectively you could re-plan for the same trip in 2010, when hopefully circumstances are more favourable for you to go.
  6. What part of non-refundable, non-transferable do you not understand??
  7. You will have to pay a penalty to cancel the ticket and then the airline will probably give you a voucher that you must use within 1 year. If you don't use the voucher within 1 year, then you just gave the airline free money.
  8. Nonrefundable tickets are always the cheapest ones, and that's one of the drawbacks of them - you can't get a refund. Most airlines do allow you to receive a travel voucher, and it sounds like yours will do that, but you will likely be subject to change/cancellation fees. Airline tickets are non-transferable, which means you cannot sell them to someone else. They are good only for the people named on them.
  9. did you have a really good reason? Family death? illness? if you have a good reason you might be able to make a case for a refund.
  10. So is it an open ticket or are u talking about postponement? If its non-refundable,try to plan later and postpone ur flights. 11. you will not be able to refund a nonrefundable ticket, airlines are strict on that restrictions. you said you are planning to cancel your trip, if you havent done yet, its best you push through as scheduled. rebooking a ticket especially the cheapest will cost you more than what you originally paid for.
