Cheap Flight International

Moving to Hawaii: Which airlines are best for transporting a dog that won't be in cabin?

I've heard Continental has a very good pet program, however we are looking at other airlines that are cheaper airfares for the human's that are also moving to Hawaii. We would like to be on the same flight as our pet if possible. We have completed all of the 120 day quarantine requirements and are now down to booking the actual flight from NJ to CA and CA to HI. We will also be doing an immediate release for the quarantine as we have taken the additional steps to warrant that as well.

  1. It doesn't make any difference. ALL cargo is exactly the same as passenger-except for the seats. ALL have federal regs. You DO know that the state has some different/stricter laws on importation, right? That you need check far in advance?
  2. You could try Delta. I used them to ship a pet once and they took awesome care of him. I had used transcontinental one time...and the dog was dirty and smelly and gross when we picked him, up...but the delta pup was clean and happy, because someone had taken the time to take him out of the crate...
  3. did you check for quarantine laws. I believe Hawaii has a strict quarantine.
  4. my family used united & we paid $25 for our 8 pound dog.she wa s in a airline carrier
